Given the tons of info on the web about how to do this, a number of different ways, if you can't find info to at least try to do this on the web, then you need to think about your career choice.

I am assigned a project to control already designed powerpoint presentations in my program. the scenario is that i have to show the slidewhow in a windows form alongwith other controls. i found some examples on the net but they are very basic and i wasnt able to find any example which shows me the demo on how to bind powerpoint slideshow to a window or to a form.
if someone can help me to go through with this or provide me the detail documentation of the assembly properties n classes then i would be very much thankful to him/her.

Could any one help me with OLAP Data Provider? I try to get the Connectionstring from MS ADO Data Control but i am getting the error
"Provider is no longer available. Ensure that the provider is installed properly"
Actually i was using MS SQL Server 2000 Analysis Service to create a Cube. Upon completion, on browsing the data from the cube nothing was shown.
any help will be appreciated.

I am currently doing a button to view my staus of actions. What should i code to retrieve data from my DB to show the current status of my action. Be it Done or Pending?? And how can i retrieve and show it to the user the detail of the action, which means extract the whole row from my DB?

The code you need depends entirely on your database. The bits that are central, are documented widely on the web. Do you mean done or pending in terms of a DB operation, or in terms of your business rules ?

The internet abounds with info on how to connect to Access. I'm sure you've already done this, otherwise you wouldn't be 'using access'
Therefore the question is, what do you mean by 'done' or 'pending' ? Do you want to show if a DB action is complete ? The best way to do that is probably to do the DB action in a thread, and show it as pending until the thread signals that it is done.

May i know how to do a thread? My 'done' and 'pending' is to let the user know if the action is ongoing on already been done. i need to retrieve tt out and show it to the user. Is using messagebox. show the only choice?

OF course not, you can set up your UI any way you like.
If you're not doing the operation in a thread, the question is meaningless, your UI will not respond until the operation ends anyhow. And if your UI didn't start the operation, what I'm suggesting will not work.

A seperate thread will take up a different slice of your processors resources to the main thread of your app. This means your UI will continue to be responsive while your Access call happens. Otherwuse, your UI will freeze up until the process returns.

interface form is in access.... the user enter the values in the fields and then submit it to the database ...also made in access...
this all is done on a button click...
can u tell me how and what coding to write....on button click event
i think the interface for the vb code opens...
but i know vb.net quitesome and not vb much ..... so what to do next...
any ideas...

Hi
I am creating a custom control for marquee style scrolling.
I have sub classed from label. I have managed the scrolling - speed etc.
My problem is the transparency of the label. I have used
Me.SetStyle(ControlStyles.SupportsTransparentBackColor, True)<br />
Me.BackColor = Color.Transparent
in Sub New of the control
However, the text still seems to sit on top of all controls on the form.
I even tried SendToBack, with no success.
Any ideas?

How can i convert Microsoft Acesss 97 to Microsoft Acesss 2000, using Visual Basic 6.0, the problem is that my client database is Microsoft Access 97 and my software uses Microsoft Access 2000 so for that i have to convert Access-97 to Access-2000 programatically.

So long as all data retrieval / update is done programmatically using ADO or OLEDB, it doesnt really matter whether your client uses Access 97 or 2000. It is only when they want to open the database directly in Access will they face a problem.

Actually i want to convert the Access-97 Database to Access-2000 Database, because i am adding/deleting coloumns programitically, so my software gives error if the Access is older version, for adding or deleting the columns.

Maybe then you will need to look at _how_ you are adding / deleting columns, since I have done this many times with Access 97 and it seems to work fine.
