how to konw that a COM Object support multithread or not

Hopefully the writer of the object put the proper restrictions on the object.
If it is not multithread aware, then it will only be allowed to be created in a Single Threaded Apartment (STA), then if you try to talk to multiple COM objects on different threads, the COM architecture will protect and syncrhonize those objects.
Otherwise, a COM object will be thread safe if it is allowed to run in the Multi-threaded Apartment(MTA) or the Free Threaded Apartment. In this case, the object itself must syncrhonize the internal state data to properly run.
When you create a COM object, you specify the type of thread that it is created on. If the thread that you are attempting to create the object on is not compatible with the supported apartment types for the COM object, the object creation should fail.

In general you should have to worry. As long as you marshal interfaces pointers between threads COM should take care of the details.

Why bother? it's a great idea for a website and rewriting the whole thing(including the graphics) as an ActiveX control would be epic!

i use a editbox control in my dialog.
after entering the value in to the editbox and pressing the enter key i need a message box to be displayed.
can ne body help,

Hello
Suresh , I hope minutes before WhiteSky already told you the way to add an event handler to the menu item and how to display a message box. If you spend few minutes with the class wizard yoi should be able to spot the event handler for the button in the class where it is part of .
Anyway ,
In the edit box property change the type from Control to value and choose a CString variable as the holder of values.
Now in nButton1() , use the CString variable to pass to AfxMessageBox(str)

In ClassWizard , add a event handler to the buitton the same way you did to menu item as described by WhiteSky
In the OnButtonX() , pass the CString variable as parameter to AfxMessageBox()

drag and drop a edit box - IDC_EDIT1
drag and drop a button - IDC_BUTTON1
Now Right click -> Class Wizard ->Choose "member variable" tab ->Select IDC_EDIT1->Click "Add variable" Now give a string m_String.
Now go to Message map tab->Choose IDC_BUTTON1->select BN_CLICKED -> Click "Add Function" . Give ok to OnButton1().
Now go to the proper .cpp file which ends eith *dlg.cpp . Change the function OnButton1() definetion as below

Go to Workspace window->Click on Resource view -> Choose the project's main dialog . Go to menu "Layout" -> Click on Tab order -> Choose your button as 1 and Ok and Cancel buttons as 2 and 3 . Now Enter will work as L buton click

Choose 1 as tab order of edit box
2 as tab order of button
3 and 4 for Ok and cancel
