Hi all,
I am writing a COM server program. In that I created a interface "MyIDL". Here is the source.,

When I compile I am getting these errors.
1] error MIDL2311 : statements outside library block are illegal in mktyplib compatability mode : [ Interface 'IX' ]
2] error MIDL2096 : duplicated attribute : [helpstring] [ Interface 'IX' ]
3] error MIDL2096 : duplicated attribute : [uuid] [ Interface 'IX' ]
How can resolve this? I know these questions might be silly. But please anybody help me. So that I could learn COM Components.

It seems that you have used /mktyplib203 options. Which is obsolete now. Try compiling, without this option using MIDL compiler.

hi der..
my project uses a keybord hook to handle the multimedia keys on the keyboard.but the system becomes stuck on pressing those keys..the program works fine for all the other keys..me tried WH_JOURNALRECORD and WH_KEYBOARD hooks..for the multimedia keys the hook procedure not even getting the message..
the system hanging in a peculiar way..mouse movement is ther but cant click buttons..for the keybord only window is working..plz help me..

Does google offer a C++ SDK ? I don't know, perhaps you need to check with them ?

No - that's kind of my point. If there is no C++ SDK you can call, then I don't see how you expect to get this info out of google ( which is where it lives, after all )

This page[^] describes how a (shudder) VB program can talk with google's web services - if VB can do it, then there's no reason you couldn't do it in C++ too

VC++.net? you mean the Managed one? If so, why not you use the SQl connections and Sql Adaptors?

I have an application with diferrent views.
I named each view as Groupview,grphview.etc,I stored number in to seperate varaible as int Windownumber =1 for groupview and respectively.
In childfrm.cpp class in Precreateview it codes like

I want to resize my view class and my view (GraphView)displayed with out maxi,min box.I want to resize it.
What can i do?My application looks like..I have menus in main window..WHen i click each menu different view will be displayed.But each view can not be resized.I have to resize ..so what can i do?
I include precreatewindow in that particular view class but it gives Assertion error in return statemnet.
So i included WS_OVERLAPPED in precreate as well as in OnCreate in childfrm.cpp,but no use.Nothing look different.
Pls help me

How can i access the index for a table from my database in my CRecordet class?
lets say i have the class CRecordset = CDatabase1
in my header file i see only the columns not the indexes for columns for ex : col name : "NAME" in my header file->CString m_name but the index i don t see him his name is "name" .!
please help me how can i access the index ?

I'm not entirely sure of what you are asking, but have you considered CRecordset::GetStatus()? It will return the zero-based index of the current record in the recordset, if its known. Is that what you want?

Hi everyone,
I want to enumerate desktop items and Im using int i; m_Active->GetDesktopItemCount(&I,0);
but always it return 1 but I have many items on my desktop how can I solve this problem?

Its name is some what misleading. But it refers to desktop items, related to IE.
It will enumeratre items in Desktop-->right click-->properties-->Desktop-->Customize desktop-->Web. I'm refering XP BTW.
For more information refer help of IE.
