(which version of crystal reports are used. how many max values per group do u want to sum? )
Why dont u use the summary...
right click on the field to summarize and select insert>summary..
that will do the rest for u.

I use crystal reports with .net 2003.
When I use summary I do not see this calculated field for summing up. Thats is why I am using this programatic approach. If theres any other way then I'll be thankfull for that.

I am encountering the 'black icon' issue when loading .ico files into an ImageList for use with a ListView. If I load the icons into the ImageList as design-time, and pull them out with

the icons are visible but any transparency is replaced with black.
If I load the the ImageList at runtime, referencing icons which I've declared as embedded resources, with either:
Dim ico0 As New Icon(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly._<br />
GetManifestResourceStream("APKK.icnCD_16x16.ico"))<br />
ImgList.Images.Add(ico0)
or
Dim ico0 As New Icon(Me.GetType(), "icnCD_16x16.ico")<br />

ALL I get is black boxes.
Setting other icons without going through an imagelist (like me.icon) using either of the two above code snippets displays the icon perfectly and preserves the transparency. But again, if I were to pull my icon out of an imagelist to set me.icon, it would not display correctly.
So I know it is possible that I can correctly display icons in my application when I do not use an ImageList. Is there any way I can assign an icon to a ListViewItem without using an ImageList? I suspect the answer is yes, but only by overriding the ListView class, and I have no idea where to start with that.
Perhaps there is a special technique which I've overlooked for loading the ImageList?
I like my icons as they are, and don't really relish the thought of manually turning them into bitmaps...
Any help appreciated! Let me know if more info is required. I am using VB.Net 2003.

Hi to all,
I want to save my data from a textbox in the database with a DataAdapter.
tbEingabeKomp is my TextBox, SqlDAKomponente my DataAdapter, SqlConnMesswerte my Connection
The DataAdapter has a Connection to the Database.

What kind of database are you using? Wouldn't it be easier to let the database do the searching? Is each number in its own field in the database?

Hiya
I'm trying to create a letter pack process.
In other words, I need to create a process where a user has a setup screen and a tree view (or something smilar) which points to a specific location and can only see crystal report files (8.5).
The user can then click on a "create pack" button, and has the options of adding as many reports as they want.
The user can then click on a print button and a screen will come up with instead of "Create Pack" it says print, and they can select the pack and print it

It would help if you described what exactly needed doing.
Let me point you in the right direction on how to start -
1. Click on the Visual Studio / Visual Basic Express icon.
2. Click on "File > New..."
3. Give the project a name.
4. Look here[^].

Are you working as cashier or teller maybe?
ya..ya.. i'm very understood what you're facing out now.
There are 2 things you need to develop here:
1. Parser (mean: will parse the amount into several variables)
2. Dictionary (every variable declare above will bind to word on dictionary.)
I can help you with the parser but i have no time with the dictionary. Beside, English isn't my 1st language.
I'm hungry now, maybe after dinner i'll write it for you.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have the following,
I have a form (ie FormM) that is IsMdiContainer = True.
Another form (ie FormA) which is not. This form is selected via a menu option
Question....
At the moment when I move the FormA it can go anywhere on my screen. What command or property do I use so that FormA cannot leave the MDI form (FormM) area.

can i bind variables to access-database directly like i can bind textboxes?
(textbox1.databinding.add("Text",datasource,"Column1"))
when i need data, i allways bind a textbox to the database and then take the data from that box, but that's not really satisfying:
textbox1.databinding.add("Text",datasource,"Column1")
dim myVariable as string =textbox1.text
and then i hide the textbox under a panel, so the user doesn't see it.
does somebody know a better way?

Don't show the third tab page until it's acceptable for the user to click it, or handle the tab page changed event, and if it's changed to the one you don't want, change it back.

Your question is too high level. Why do you want to databind to a textbox, it can only hold one string, right ? Or do you have more than one textbox ? What's the database ? Did you put the data in there ? What is the data ? What are you trying to do exactly ?

First i thanks to you consider my problem.
I have mentioned there i have a database and i want retrive the data from database.My quection is in my login form if someone click the check box,that mean user's id and password automatically detecting from the database,so i have two text boxes one for id and other for password.So how can i bind the data in text box in coding level,not in design level.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'bind'. I'd expect to run a stored proc that returns true or false, taking hte username and password. Then your UI layer never contains any passwords, it simply calls the data layer to check if the values present are valid or not.

You dim the picture box adding the 'withevents' keyword.
You create the event eg public event eventname
You add 'handles ButtonName_Click' to the event you created, this will tell vb that when you click that button, it must run this event.

i have an enumeration (Yes/No) , and the according value are 1/0 when i store them in the database.
when i retrieve the data from BD and display it on a datagrid they appear 1s and 0s but i want them to appear Yes No ??

Your enums have those values ? If so, I'd think you could cast those numbers to an instance of the enum and call ToString on it.
However, for those two values, it's just as easy to write the code to convert them to strings.
