If you create a new instance of the form that means you have a new form and you change the color of the new form. If you just want to change the backcolor, then use:

LOL - I just answered this on MSDN. Your form needs to call InitialiseComponent in order to have it's properties set. Create a method that sets the default properties, call it after InitialiseComponent and then call it again if you need to reset.

Hello,
Before you change the Forms BackColor you have to save it at a global Color variable

Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have some problems using Crystal Reports. I have for an example an Access database with a table called "Authors". I connect to the database using the server explorer in VS.NET 2005, I create an OleDbConnection and a DataAdapter. I use the Generate Dataset option from the DataAdapter to generate a Typed DataSet called dataSet1. I load data into the DataSet using the Fill method from the DataAdapter. Then I insert a new Crystal Report Document Using the Wizard and I add as data source From the Project Data/ADO.Net Datasets the dataset1.Authors. I add all the fields from the dataset and I add an Crystal Report Viewer control to the main form. I use the folowing code to set the ReportSource filed of the viewer:
CrystalReport1 cs = new CrystalReport1();
this.crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cs;
Ok, when I run the Application the Crystal Report Viewer it lists nothing from the DataSet data. What is wrong?

Yay I found a solution just by adding one line of code to the code from above:
CrystalReport2 cs = new CrystalReport2();
cs.SetDataSource(this.dataSet11);
this.crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cs;

The EnableAutoDragDrop property for the RichTextBox gives the ability to copy text when dragging. Is there anyway to fix this so that the text is moved instead?
Also, just overriding dragEnter and dragDrop with e.Effect = DragDropEffects.All; gives seemingly flawless DnD behavior without the use of DoDragDrop or having to trace the drop index using the coordinates. How come this method isn't mentioned anywhere?
Any suggestions on how to get DnD working on a RichTextBox would be greatly appreciated. Please and Thank you!

Hello,
I am developing a web app and trying to use Enterprise Library 2.0. I am using it for logging for now. I achived the logging on a flat file but when I tried to start doing the logging by using a DataBase Listener. I failed.
Here's how I am using it after including all possible references to my web app.
I configured a datasource with following attributes setup:
-Server (my server name)
-Database (my database in my server)
-Integrated Security (I used API.. something, false, true and I even tested after removing this tag aswell).
-user (my user name)
-pwd (my password)
Then I configured a Database Listner and gave the reference of my datasource.
Then I configured a Logging block by adding different categories and then I added reference to my Database listner in categories.
I also tested by adding and removing following in web.config:

I am trying to get each item from a listview and write it to an xml file. For instance lets say i have 2 items in the ListView: http://download.com/download1.zip & http://download.com/download2.zip. below is the code i have but it gives me an error: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItem' to type "System.String'.

I have a program where I am importing data from a comma delimited file. The data is from years of user input that was not validated at time of input, therefore some of the data is useless. I have found my way around most of the problems except one. In this file there is a birthday for each customer. If the user inputed the date as "76/00/25", DateTime.Parse will not read it correctly. Should I put this in a try/catch block and set the data to something default ( like 1/1/1900 )?

I have done a fair amount of data cleansing and what we usually do is dump the bad data into another file. Then apply human analysis to fix the solution for larger and large portions of data. Hopefully, you will then get to a relatively small set of data. For the final set make best guesses based on weighted importance of the data. (BTW, use nulls instead of defaults when you don't know. Some people born on 1/1/1900 might be offended otherwise)

Ok, I have another question.
How do I set a DateTime value to null? I tried dtDate = null, but it did not compile.
Also, I am passing this value to a stored procedure and the column can hold a null value, but will the procedure allow that...IOW does it have to be defined as so in the procedure?
