The reason it is firing twice is because you are changing it twice; once when you select on the form and another with your line of code just before your return where you change it back to the current date.

The one time I experienced something like that, I found that I had done a subscription to the event twice for that event handler. So do a search in your code for += and make sure you haven't done that.

means Tips & tricks which r available on the net. they give the menual implementetion but i want to implement them with the coding

"Tips & Tricks" still means anything. What are talking about??????? Just changing values in the registry?? Coding these depends on exactly what needs to be changed and what the possible values or range of values are. Most of what you write will be user interface code. Changing the values in the registry is easy, example of which you can find here[^].

If you know about using the Registry class, then changing a value in the registry should be very simple for you. I havev no idea what you're having a problem with, and there's no way on earth you're going to get me to write something for you. That's not what CP is here for.

Hello everybody
I'm using TAPI3 to send and receive data between computers, but I've got two problems.
1- I intialize the modem by TAPI, but I need to know on which port the modem is? That's which port to write the data to
2- I can send the data by writing it to the port, but how can I know when I've received data?? I mean what event will be fired?
I'll really appreciate an opinion here. Hope you have some bright ideas folks!

Serial Ports are stored in this registry key: HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM, since I don't have a modem connect I can't investigate further but maybe there's some string value or something which indicates if a modem is connected.

I found the Key you mentioned, but I'm quite concerned about variations in Windows versions -eg Home edition, NT, ME, the new Vista??-, besides -as you said- it doesn't mention if that modem is connected or not?

I hasn't changed through from 98SE to XP, I don't know about Vista, wern't they supposed to do away with the registry all together  ?

I don't have a modem to try it on since all my stuff is done through the ethernet, but after Thursday I can investigate (exams will be over).

By the way, when I said "it doesn't mention if that modem is connected or not?" I meant that, if there are more than a modem on the computer -such as the case of some telephony centers or switches-, we won't know which modem is which , and which modem we are using now in our program, see?

As an instructor I get this question a lot.
The Inside C# by Tom Archer is a good "intermediate going towards advanced" programmer. I wore my copy of the first edition out, very useful.
If you need an advanced book, I would recommend either CLR via C# by Jeffrey Richter, which is terrific for figuring out what is going on under the covers, or a more practical book, Practical .NET2 and C#2 by Patrick Smacchia.

I used version 2 into the ground, and just bought the 4th ed(he updates for new versions of .NET) cause its even more helpful. I'd highly recommend it.

hi all,in my web config i set the timeout="120" and i use some session variables in my page load event,it works fine in my local system, when i upload it, it shows null reference error(not all time but some times).when i work contineously it work fine if i leave for a minutes it show null reference error........what to do?...any remedy?
