Hello!
I need help with tooltips on a Listbox which lays in a view.

If I go with mouse on a free space (an empty row) on my listbox the tooltip works but If I go on a used row the tooltip only flickers / flashes.

I use ShellExecute function in a program. But the program executed both process simultaneously. How can i delete MyPrg.Exe after execution.

How to get the args from MFC application ?

Sometime will using "application.exe text.txt" to pass the option/value to the application.
But in MFC Application, how to put the option and receive the option in the MFC Applcation ?
Because i can't find the main and args..

Good Evening...

I was wondering if anyone has had issues with code from libraries operating differently than the same code in the .exe modules?

I am chasing a bug in some code, and the only thing I can point at is the fact that the code was moved out of the main program/exe project and into a link library....

I have no clue why?

Any thoughts?

Hello friends,

Can any one tell how to convert CString variable to integer data type?

for example

CString str1;
int b;

str1 = m_var1 ; m_var1 of string data type
I want to assign str1 to b . Since str1 is type of CString , then is not possible to assign str1 to b. I need to convert the str1 variable to data type of b. then only the assign is possible.

Can any one help me in this matter

Hi all,

I have written a little program which uses gdi+ and a third party dll (just an interface to netcdf files).
I've tested both debug and release version on Win XP and W98SE on two desktop computers and it worked fine in all cases.

When check it on a laptop, debug version run ok but the release version always crash with this message:

Exeption Information
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x00000000 Address: 0x7c944262

(this address points into ntdll.dll)

Since I get this problem just on release version I have no idea about how to debug the application.

Any suggestion?

Sir,
I want to know the difference between VC++ and vb.net, and asp.net and c#. I referred many books for these. But all contain the almost all same topics such as MFC, ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO, DAO. Then where the difference exist.
I have one doubt why many people are not interested to learn VC++. Many people put interest to learn VB.NET, ASP.NET and C#.

The difference is like the difference between englisch and french, with all the literature written in it.

What do you want to do with it? A language, or, better, the technologie you use should help you to solve your problems.

1) Your design shoule be "as independent as possible from the language"
2) Define what you want to do, what are the interactions. Maybe use uml for make it clear. Usecases are good to start.
3) Make a decision. Look what woule be the best technologie, wath the customer excepts, and what are the scills of you employees?

MFC is a c++ library used by microsoft. ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO are language-independent communication-layers. DAO normally means data-access-object. This is more a design-pattern.

Hi,

There are tons of differences between (vc++) & (VB.net,asp.net). I just give you the overview.
VC++ purely works with Pointers.
(ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO, DAO) --- these are the concepts you can implement with VB or VC.
again that is purely depends on applicaitons type.

VC particularly desinged for C++ development enhancements and if the same applicaiton developed in VB and VC, performance of VC program will pretty fast.

People feel it is difficult to work on pointers, so generally they choose VB.

Each VB.net and VC has got their own advantages and disadvantages.
To choose between these purely based on your application type.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
