how to CString Variable to Integer data type

Hello friends,

Can any one tell how to convert CString variable to integer data type?

for example

CString str1;
int b;

str1 = m_var1 ; m_var1 of string data type
I want to assign str1 to b . Since str1 is type of CString , then is not possible to assign str1 to b. I need to convert the str1 variable to data type of b. then only the assign is possible.

Can any one help me in this matter

Hi all,

I have written a little program which uses gdi+ and a third party dll (just an interface to netcdf files).
I've tested both debug and release version on Win XP and W98SE on two desktop computers and it worked fine in all cases.

When check it on a laptop, debug version run ok but the release version always crash with this message:

Exeption Information
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x00000000 Address: 0x7c944262

(this address points into ntdll.dll)

Since I get this problem just on release version I have no idea about how to debug the application.

Any suggestion?

This is how we do it...

Sir,
I want to know the difference between VC++ and vb.net, and asp.net and c#. I referred many books for these. But all contain the almost all same topics such as MFC, ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO, DAO. Then where the difference exist.
I have one doubt why many people are not interested to learn VC++. Many people put interest to learn VB.NET, ASP.NET and C#.

The difference is like the difference between englisch and french, with all the literature written in it.

What do you want to do with it? A language, or, better, the technologie you use should help you to solve your problems.

1) Your design shoule be "as independent as possible from the language"
2) Define what you want to do, what are the interactions. Maybe use uml for make it clear. Usecases are good to start.
3) Make a decision. Look what woule be the best technologie, wath the customer excepts, and what are the scills of you employees?

MFC is a c++ library used by microsoft. ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO are language-independent communication-layers. DAO normally means data-access-object. This is more a design-pattern.

Hi,

There are tons of differences between (vc++) & (VB.net,asp.net). I just give you the overview.
VC++ purely works with Pointers.
(ActiveX, OLE, COM, DCOM, ADO, DAO) --- these are the concepts you can implement with VB or VC.
again that is purely depends on applicaitons type.

VC particularly desinged for C++ development enhancements and if the same applicaiton developed in VB and VC, performance of VC program will pretty fast.

People feel it is difficult to work on pointers, so generally they choose VB.

Each VB.net and VC has got their own advantages and disadvantages.
To choose between these purely based on your application type.

If you want an answer to your question, you'll have to be more specific. Explain CLEARLY what you want to achieve, nobody here knows your program and we cannot see your screen neither (neither are we god to read your mind).

Read the speed... Where, what is this speed ? Where is it stored ? Is it inputed from the user, ... ?

r u sure that these functions are uses active directory?

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
