How about different icons for the hair color? On occassion, I forget whether the person I'm talking to is a blond or a brunette and a hair color icon would be a nice tip-off. Obviously, a neutral icon would be needed for those not wishing to divulge that information.

... been dealing with a bunch of Microsoft Office integration stuffs as of late: specifically using VS2005, Office 2003 and the new Office 2005 .Net SDK using C#, and I just realized there is no Office Board here on CP.

I agree! I recently had a VB.NET question http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp?msg=1388455&forumid=1646&mode=all&userid=387911#xx1388455xx[^] regarding the development of an application that uses Excel. It was definitely more an Office / Excel development question and a new messageboard for these type of questions would be great.
Microsoft has even created the Visual Studio Tools for Office add on for VS 2005. It would be great to have a seperate message board to ask questions related to this product.

From the Forum FAQ
# What is 'Noise level' and how does message voting work? Why are some messages red and some grey?
Anyone can give a message you have posted a score of 1 to 5, 1 being poor, 5 being excellent. The Noise level drop-down allows you to specify the minimum score a message must have in order for it to appear normally on the boards.
Voting is weighted based on membership level. A new (non-status or bronze member) has a voting weight of 1. Silver members have a weight of 2, gold a weight of 4 and platinum members have a weight of 8. Thus a vote of 4 and a vote of 5 will not necessarily result in a score of 4.5 for a message.
If a message has been given a score that is below your noise threshold then it will appear dimmed out on the boards. A message must have at least 3 votes and be below your threshold to be grayed out.
Messages that have been voted greater than 4.5 will be marked as red regardless of the the number of votes it has.

(context) I'm doing a bit of development using the CTreeCtrl (optimizing, customizing ).
now, if I have specific questions, I do the obvious things, google, CP, books, ... and either I get an answer or I don't.
and there are the different articles about the CTreeCtrl; again, if I have specific questions about those, I will post a question there; maybe I will have an answer, maybe not; but it will only help me and/or the few that happen to have the same kind of problems or interests.
What could be usefull ( or maybe not ) is to have topical forums, one for each section on the "left side" of CP; for example, one for Buttons, one for Status bar, ..., one for CTreeCtrl ...
so that there could be some continuous and more focus talk on a particular topic.

Hello,
In times of DotNet 2.0 the classifying of the articles ( C# 2.0, C# 1.0, ... ) the same for VB seems to be a must. No one is happy to found an apparently solution e.g. Highlighting and selecting an item in a DataList and realize that this wont work in VS2003 No hint or comment on the page that this sample is for DotNet framework 2.0.
So please describe your environment or even better classify your article right so that a search can respect your choice.

I still have a soft-spot for FoxPro. It's data manipulation by code-
capabilities are yet to be beaten. Although the next version of C# seems to have that covered.
