Simple. You CAN'T! You can't create an object of this type without creating or representing an actual key in the registry. Trying to create an instance that is not tied directly to the Registry is pointless because the methods and properties in the class have nothing to work on.
The only "creatable" version of RegistryKey isn't creatable, but are RegistryKey objects that represent the root hives of the Registry - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, ...

I'm a T.Y.B.Sc.Information Technology student studying in Patkar College, Goregaon, Mumbai. We have decided to do a project on A Bit Torrent Client in VB.NET. But we are in need of a library which can help us in the Network Management Area. I would like to know if any of u guys could help me out in this area. I'll be very greatful to u guys coz this project means a lot to me.

There are no libraries. But, have you looked at the BitTorrent home page and noticed the link at the bottom that says "For Developers - Click here for SOURCE and older versions"?
Why would you want a library that handles all the hard stuff of a BitTorrent client when your project is to write your own BitTorrent client? Slapping a user interface around a pre-written library is not going to score you any points...

You're not listening. THERE IS NO LIBRARY! You have to write the code to implement the BitTorrent protocol YOURSELF. Noone is going to write it for you.

Is anybody using VS .Net 2005 in industrial applications or are you planning to upgrade to 2005 in a very near future. I mean, if you are using this in industrial applications that involves serial and ethernet communications?

Hi every one,
I am trying to develop a windows application which will run on touch screen LCD monitor.
but the touch screen requires bigger option button,check boxes, tab pages, scroll bars etc. in such a way that the enduser select the controls using his finger.
How can i adapt the .net windows controls for the touch screen application (like changing size,graphics etc.,)?
or is there any special controls available for touch screen in .net?
or is there any tool available to convert the normal controls to touch screen controls??

Hello.
I am attempting to display the contents of a Date/Time column from an Access database table in my DataGrid Control in VB.NET
The DataGrid control (ReportGrid) is bound to a DataSet, which is filled using a DataAdapter with the data stored in a recordset (snippets are given below)
Public reportDA As New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter
Public reportDS As New DataSet
Public GridReport As New ADODB.Recordset
GridReport.Open(SQLtxt, DBConnection, ADODB.CursorTypeEnum.adOpenStatic, ADODB.LockTypeEnum.adLockReadOnly)
reportDA.Fill(reportDS, GridReport, "Report")
ReportGrid.SetDataBinding(reportDS, "Report")
The "Report" table held within the DataSet contains several columns. I am able to display the 'Date' column within the DataGrid but the 'Time' column displays the information in a Date Format:
Original Database table displays: 10:16:51
DataGrid Control table displays: 30/12/1899 (For any time)
I have tried to directly copy the contents of the Access table using the coding below but with no success:
GridReport.MoveFirst()
For i = 0 To GridReport.RecordCount - 1
reportDS.Tables("Report").Rows(i).Item("Time") = GridReport.Fields("Time").Value
GridReport.MoveNext()
Next
Any help would be most appreciated.

Your mixing your use of two different sets of database objects. You should NOT be using ADODB objects with the .NET OleDb classes. This is probably what's causing your date/time translation issue. You should be using OleDbConnection and OleDbCommand objects in stead of ADODB junk.

I see the code to convert a binary user SID to String, but it's in C++, can someone help me to do this in vb.net. I only need to convert the SID to string.

In what form do you have the SID in your VB.NET code? Without that starting point, it's pretty difficult to tell you, with any accuracy, how to convert it to a string. But, I would image that String.Format or .ToString would be used.
