When attaching a database that was detached from another SQL Server instance.

I got the error message below:

Error 602: Could not find row in sysindexes for database ID 25, object ID 1,
index ID 1. Run DBCC CHECKTABLE on sysindexes.

how can i solve this problem. i am using SQL Server 2000

I have read article "Making ATL OLE DB Provider templates support updating of data" at www.codeproject.com. Through reading your article, you must be a professional in "OLE DB Provider" field, I think so. Now, would you like to give me some help about this issue? You will be pretty appreciated.

1. In the file "IRowsetChangImpl.h" of your "Simple Data Object with update support", there is a row of code "HRESULT hr = pT->GetDataHelper(hAccessor, pColInfo, (void**)&pBinding, pDstData, cCols, spConvert, pRow);"(lies in method "SetDataHelper"). But there is not definition and implementation of "GetDataHelper". How to resolve it?

2. Now, I'm building up a updatable OLE DB Provider. This provider will be run in MS SQLServer DTS. First "Transform Data Task" of MS SQLServer DTS get the rowset from SQLServer, then call this provider, and pass rowset data to my provider by calling IRowsetChange::SetData(HROW hRow, HACCESSOR hAccessor, void* pSrcData). My questions are as following:
1) "Transform Data Task" pass the new data(a row of data include 10 columns) to my provider through method "SetData(HROW hRow, HACCESSOR hAccessor, void* pSrcData)". Is it correct?
2) I have get the DBBINDING info by the next code:

SQL SERVER log file increasing remarkably

Hi All,
I am using SQL server 2000, one of my data base log file size has reached to the size of 30 gb. Even after transactional back up size did not decrease. Then I delete the log file and recreated it, still it is growing remarkably.
My datbase setting for Recovery Intreval is 0(zero) minutes.
Can anybody tell me why this file is increasing so fast?

the extendeddesription data type is ntext
i get the error when executing the command

An error occurred while executing query:<br />
<br />
Page (1:735), slot 40 for text, ntext, or image node does not exist.

i cannot even execute the delete and update statement to amend this row, any1 can help me? Frown | :(

Incidentally, I have found these by Googling for the following:
Page slot for text, ntext, or image node does not exist.
so if the technote doesn't apply for you, you may want to Google the above phrase yourself and see what you can get.

try by converting column extendeddescription into varchar

You can read data from a DataSet simply by using the following code:

byte[] _Image = (byte[])myDataSet.Tables[0].Rows[0]["Image"];
MemoryStream ms=new MemoryStream(_Image);
Image image=Image.FromStream(ms);

Now you have your image reconstructed if you have stored it as binary data.

Hi i am using this sql statement on (SQL Server 2000) and tryin to sort the results on tl.Date but as i have already casted it to a nvarchar it sorts it like a char so im just wondering if anyone has any idea how to sort it by date correctly. thanks in advance Tim

As per my knowledge this query will work fine and will display the result sorted based on tl.Date as Date. I may be mis-understanding your question but I think as you have converted Date into nvarchar in select clause not in Order By clause, hence it will have no effect on the sorting.

someone has actually solved the problem now but just in case u would like to know when i got a substring of the date i got dates like

Sept 23 2005
sorted incorrectly as sept should be before dec but because they are nvarchar they are sorted as characters as in D comes before S in the alphabet hopes this clears it up

Hallo All

Happy New Year.

I run into a big problem. I used for quite a time SQL Server Express Sql non-release 587. Now I would like to migrate the data to another server using sql Express release. Everything I tried did not work. Attaching the database, Backup restoring the database , nothing worked. Always I get an incompatible version error.

Is there a tool avaiable like imp/exp in Oracle or mysqldump?

P.S. I can't use graphical tools or sqlwebadmin. Non of them work with 587
P.P.S. I already contacted Microsoft for this. They say 587 is too old for migration. Only the full SQL Server could do this, not Express.

Try an import/export format recognized by both DB engines.

For example comma separated values (.csv) or any other format both DB engines understand.

Export to a CSV file and then use it to import to the new DB.
