 Hello friends,
I have developed one multi-threaded client-server app in VC++. with audio communication. Voice is transferred using UDP packets. The application works well with dial up communication but when I tried it on CableNet and on machines on the intranet having shared internet connection, it failed. I have checked the incoming UDP packets and found that only a few UDP packets reach to that computer (say 1 out of 100). I am not getting how to deal with this problem.
I have used TCP connection for text messaging and it works fine in both of the above situations.
The problem is with audio packets in UDP format.
I am looking for an immediate help as my project is in progress.

UDP doesn't guarantee delivery by specification, you'll have to use TCP
RFC 768 - User Datagram Protocol[^]
This protocol provides a procedure for application programs to send
messages to other programs with a minimum of protocol mechanism. The
protocol is transaction oriented, and delivery and duplicate protection
are not guaranteed. Applications requiring ordered reliable delivery of
streams of data should use the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) [2].

I'm having some trouble with the CPropertySheet. Here is the scenario: The PropertySheet doesn't have a 'Aplpy' button. The property pages contain information that need to be verified when the user clicks the 'Ok' button.
Here is my problem:
After having determined that the data is invalid, the property sheet should not close, but remain visible so that the user can correct the information.
I also got the blogging virus..[^]

This is a bad approach. Do not enable the OK button if invalid data exists.

I removed it on purpose, since the property sheet isn't really an options dialog. No options can be 'applied' to the program, but need to be set before starting a sub process.
Thanks for your reply. I solved the problem using the OnApply method (this is even called though it does not have an apply button). I rather give a fault summary when the user submits data than handling every notification and verify the data individually.

How can I close a dialog in OnInitDialog. I need this because some checks where made in this function. If the check fails I need to cancel the dialog creation...

You could simply make a call to CDialog::EndDialog(IDCANCEL)

Call EndDialog() with a value indicating that initialization failed. Using IDCANCEL is a bit misleading.

I would advise you analyse the logic of your program. For me, the situation is like this: the dialog should not be displayed at all if the validation fails. Consequently the DoModal() should not be called at all.

If DoModal() is not called, then the dialog's OnInitDialog() method will not get called, which is where the initialization is taking place.
If it's actual validation that is taking place in the OnInitDialog() method then you are right, it should be done outside of the dialog.

I can move the bitmap image by using the keyboard keys .
Problem#1.
i could't select which image to move,selection is made by default the last image it loads.
Problem#2.
when i move the image the painting is made along the previos thing it has painted.But when i minimize the window the problem will be solved .
I have made function call Invalidate() from On_KeysDown ().
How could i solve those Problems?/
Will any body help me please??

I am unable to load two or more BItmap image in Custom HyperLink Control,
I have made by own custom cotrol by inherating CWnD:: .If i load two image too but when ever i minimize the window only the later bitmap remain.
Will any body help me please??

What do you mean by "Interface" name? Do you mean a COM interface, or a name of the exe/process? Can you clarify?

This interface does not ring any bells, but in any case, Internet Explorer has many interfaces, depending on what you want to do.

Any exe files that have been created using visual studio dot net cannot be run in my desktop which does not have visual studio.net .. finally i installed dot net frame work 1.1 on my computer but still it does not work..
it says common language runtime debugging services
an exception was throen that could not be handled
can anyone say how do i make those exe run in my computer..

What version of Visual Studio .NET are you using? 2002 or 2003?
