Call EndDialog() with a value indicating that initialization failed. Using IDCANCEL is a bit misleading.

I would advise you analyse the logic of your program. For me, the situation is like this: the dialog should not be displayed at all if the validation fails. Consequently the DoModal() should not be called at all.

If DoModal() is not called, then the dialog's OnInitDialog() method will not get called, which is where the initialization is taking place.

If it's actual validation that is taking place in the OnInitDialog() method then you are right, it should be done outside of the dialog.

Moving a bit map Image By keyboards Key MFC

I can move the bitmap image by using the keyboard keys .
Problem#1.
i could't select which image to move,selection is made by default the last image it loads.
Problem#2.
when i move the image the painting is made along the previos thing it has painted.But when i minimize the window the problem will be solved .
I have made function call Invalidate() from On_KeysDown ().

How could i solve those Problems?/
Will any body help me please??

I am unable to load two or more BItmap image in Custom HyperLink Control,
I have made by own custom cotrol by inherating CWnD:: .If i load two image too but when ever i minimize the window only the later bitmap remain.
Will any body help me please??

What do you mean by "Interface" name? Do you mean a COM interface, or a name of the exe/process? Can you clarify?

This interface does not ring any bells, but in any case, Internet Explorer has many interfaces, depending on what you want to do.

Any exe files that have been created using visual studio dot net cannot be run in my desktop which does not have visual studio.net .. finally i installed dot net frame work 1.1 on my computer but still it does not work..
it says common language runtime debugging services
an exception was throen that could not be handled

can anyone say how do i make those exe run in my computer.. Cry | :((

we'll i have built the exe using .net2003 at my office but my home computer has only visual studio 6.0

If it's a true fisheye with 180 degree FOV, conversion to rectilinear would result in an infinite image. If you want to convert a segment cropped from the fisheye image, first you need to know the projection used by the lens. Equisolid angle and equidistant projections are the most common. You can get the projection equations from http://www.root.or.jp/fit/pages/gyogan_eng.htm[^] or http://www.lce.hut.fi/~jkannala/Kannala_Brandt_ICPR2004.pdf[^]. Then reverse the fisheye projection and apply the normal perspective projection instead.

if we refer the structure via typedef struct pointer:

That's the actual name of the structure. You can skip that in the declaration, IIRC. One place where you need it is if you need a reference to the struct from within the struct itself (for eg, a Node in a list).

AFAIK, the tagHELLODATA is not strictly necessary here. In this case, declaring a variable

HELLODATA foo;

has the same effect as declaring it like so:

struct tagHELLODATA foo;

. I believe you can dispense with the tagHELLODATA, changing the declaration to

typedef struct
{
UINT iColor;
COLORREF clrText;
}
HELLODATA, * PHELLODATA;

should not cause any adverse effects.

The best way to explain is by example:

Lets say I want to have a structure called BOB that I want to use in both C and C++.

In C++, I can do the following:

struct BOB { int a };

and then to use BOB I just say:

BOB myVariable;

In C, if I do the following:

struct BOB { int a };

I have to say:

struct BOB myVariable;

So, in order declare a variable in C like you would in C++, people did the following:

typedef struct tagBOB { int a } BOB;

Now in C you can do "BOB myVariable".

Since windows h files are for both C and C++, you still see the "tag" stuff for C which doesn't hurt C++.

Problem with MFC DLL and mixed VS-Versions

Hello,
I writes a MFC application with VS 2003. A part of application uses a MFC-extended DLL.
This DLL was written with VisualStudio 6.x. Now I have a silly problem that when I debug my application (with the debug-version DLL), the debugger fails when I access the the DLL. If I compile the DLL with VS 2003 everything works well.
Does it make a difference with which version of VS the DLL is compiled?
Applies this problem only to Mfc dlls?
