No doubt you'll have some issues, but all of them will be easily overcome. Just make sure your inquiries here are specific, it is easier to diagnose and solve a small issue than try explaining a very large subject like .NET Remoting generalities.

Hi!
In my program I've got to call a function from a third-party DLL to perform audio conversion.
Basically no big deal, but I have to be able to set the path and name of the DLL at runtime, because there are different DLLs that can be called.  Each of these DLLs publishes a function with the same name and signature, but performs the conversion in a different way.
Setting the path works by p/invoking LoadLibrary() and FreeLibrary(), so that the DLL is already loaded when the function is called. This works fine.
But for my DllImport() attribute I have to give the DLL name and this name cannot be changed at runtime, as far as I know.
Does anyone know how to solve this dilemma?

AFAIK, this is true. You can't change the name of the .DLL that the function header is bound to.
But, you can create several function headers, each with a difference name of course (there's always a down side!), aliased to the real name of the function in the .DLL. This will also force you to write code to call each of these function names seperately.
I suspect there might be a way to use some kind of self-modifying code technique, possibly involving the Reflection namespace. But this is sheer speculation. I have no proof that this can be done or example code to show you.

shows a way, but you need to write a front end dll with a win32 compiler. As you only have a single function to call, this wouldn't be a big deal I guess.

I have been playing with this thought already, but didn't really like the idea of having to add an additional level of indirection...
But if everything else fails I guess I'll use this approach.

 How I do to implement the ISerializable interface in my custom collection? I have implemented the iSerializable for the items of the collection.
I know perfom this in XmlSerialization, but i need of more performance, then I will try the binary serialization.

Hi...I'm doing a project to detect drowsiness through a persons voice pattern chages. For this I'm considering only a "word" at the moment and planing to use Fast Fourier Tarnsformation(FFT) and Artificial Neural Network(ANN). I need to analyse spectrum changes of the wave and insert those chages as the inputs for the ANN.
So I need a code of the FFT to analyse the spectrum change and it has to be in c# as I'm using c# .net for the implementation. Can anybody please help me with this...If soemone can send me a c# code for the FFT it would be a big help... Thanks alot..please reply...

I am having small problem in WMI related question.
The folowing function will accept username,password and process executable path as input parameter, and it will launch a new process in the host.and finally I will fetch Process ID and process name.
This code is working fine for the current user, that means passing username and password as null.
My requrement is I wand to run a process for a different user( with username and password)

Does onyone know of a way (or if it's even possible) to capture keystrokes in a C# app, regardless of wether it has focus or not.
I'm making a dock app for myself using C# and want to add keystrokes support and being a dock, it'd be more useful if it didn't have to have focus

I have created a crystal report using c# from a xml file .
Now what I need is that
I would like you to create the same report that you I have just finished as a screen program. The screen should look exactly the same as the report does, created from the same xml file. Then there should be a print button on the screen which when clicked should print out the screen.

Why not just host the Crystal Report Viewer control. It does everything you need, displays the report on screen and lets you print it or export it to a third-party application.
Other than that, you could host an IE browser control and use XSLT to transform your xml file into html.

Try the one listed in webservicex.com. It didn't work 100%, but worked reasonably for a free service (atleast here in India).

Hi,
I'm trying to call the Matlab engine API from C# in an ASP.net web application. To start with, I built a simple C# console app (see below), based on www.codeproject.com/samples/matlabeng.asp and it works fine.
But when I try the same thing in an ASP.net web application (I try and initialise the engine in the Application_Start method in the global assembly), I can't seem to open a connection to the Matlab engine. The engine handle after the engOpen() call is still null.
I'd welcome any suggestions for things to try.
