Aye, although for security purposes I replaced the encoded string with lorem ipsum. But, it's the same principle, since a web forms app can easily have that big of a view state or more.

It's how ASP.NET Web Forms goes about tracking client state from a server-side environment. The biggest problem with it, is that it can easily grow to be monolithic and slow. The example I just posted is not an exaggeration.

Pretty much, except it's a base64 encoded binary dump. It's pretty easy to decode[^] at least, but it can still get out of hand.

I got both "On Battery" & "Plugged In" option set to "Never sleep" but still my notebook goes to sleep completely within 2 hours of inactivity. Weird, Windows 8.1 here. Is there any other settings that might be overriding the power schemes?
