I had no idea Subway was in other countries. I have never liked their bread but I've only eaten there a couple of times over the years.

And the Guardian? I don't know much about them but they have a blurb that gets added to every page claiming everyone has a right to fact-based news and asks for money. However, in that very blurb they lie. Laugh | :laugh:

At least you can read and scroll the article without responding to the prompt, albeit with only a third of the screen as usable. Many of the links posted by CPers are to sites where the prompt fills the whole screen or the text behind is not scrollable.

I generally avoid accepting / rejecting cookie requests - the default must be 'reject' as I have not explicitly accepted. Even worse, some of the ones I do try to reject go to pages without a working 'Save Preferences' or include unselectable options I want to say 'No' to.

I have missed being able to read a lot of interesting links posted by CPers, but that is a small price to pay for personal liberty.

Yes, I know that these people have to make a living and I am 'freeloading'. But that is what the adverts are for.

Specifically re the Guardian: Even though I have never accepted cookies, they are still using them. The blurb today says I have read 12 of their articles, so they must be keeping a count somewhere which I have not authorised them to do. I have not actually read that many - some I have accessed the page, seen the begging text and closed; that is not 'reading'.

And as for the Jaffa Cake conundrum "cake or biscuit^*?": it's a cake. Legally (in the UK at least) it's a cake because when it goes stale, it gets harder. Biscuits start out hard, and go soft with time.

I don't discriminate: I like cake, I like biscuits, and I like Jaffa cakes!

* For our US readers, that would be "Cake or Cookie?"

Their veggie sandwich is a lie.
One tiny slice of cheese is all you get and then the regular toppings everyone gets.
And if court has anything to say about it, it probably isn't cheese either.
Still, the toppings are okay so it's not that bad either... At least better than Burger King, KFC or McDonald's.

... The panic buyers hit my local supermarket yesterday, and pretty much emptied the TP shelves.
When I walked past the aisle all that it held was one double roll pack and a battery powered Wet & Dry Vacuum cleaner.

I'm not sure if this was a "suggested substitute" or somebody just changed their mind ... Laugh | :laugh:

And yes, when I went in today the shelves were all fully stocked.
