So the last days we were hit by snowfall. By now the roads never went clear, instead of 5 min to the workplace i need 20. I hope some day people learn to drive in snow.

In Finland they do know how, but they have to fit special winter tyres with spikes so that's cheating a bit.

Those spike tyres are not allowed in Germany (since 1975) 
But even in Finland, they have to be equipped. I once had to help pushing the taxi uphill that should bring me to the airport because it still uses summer tyres in November. The excuse: "On the Åland islands the winter is usually coming later".

Yes. I had to pay half the price and got a receipt for the full amount which I got back because it was a business travel

Good job, reminds me of the time, too many years ago, when I used to get paid for travel time.
As soon as I got on the flight I switched my watch to the destination time, it was then Sunday for the whole flight = a lot more double time pay

I don't have much travels anymore too
But that was a little bit special because it was the November Storm of 1995 - Wikipedia[^] and I was on board a research vessel around Gotland.

I remember that storm.
I was a student then. We had an Indian student from Bhopal (the western side) living in the same house, she was doing an internship at the time.
After realizing the buses didn't go she walked to her job (4 km) just to realize she was the only one there.
Her boss was so delighted to have someone around, being able to answer the phone while actually being able to checkup on stuff, that he gave her the following Friday off.
