This code is used for making a custom control. You really don't want to to use it unless you're making your own.
And yes, it IS that complicated. No, I don't have any example code for doing this.

There are free and commerical PDF libraries for .NET. There is no PDF support built in, Process.Start to start a viewer is the best you can hope for, or perhaps using IE as a control to view them.

If you convert the date into a DateTime object, there is a DayOfWeek property in the DateTime that you can check to see if it is Sunday. It returns a enumeration.
Dim dt As New DateTime(2003, 5, 1)
If dt.DayOfWeek = DayOfWeek.Sunday Then
End If
Hope that helps.

Use the Anchor property to set where controls move on a resize of the form, and set the Size property, as you already are, to resize it.

Hi
when the user press Enter key on datagridview the focus goto the next row , ant Tab key go to the next cell ..
How can I prevent that to use Entyer/Tab keys in any other use ..

you can use the keypress event of the datagridview.
check which key was pressed.if enter key then move the focus to the previous row and if tab key then move the focus to the previous cell.
hopes it helps,

Hi,
I am using VB .Net 2.0 thik client application(Winform) and in one case I need to creat the kind of function, which will be provided class name(string) as parameter and that function will return object of that class, like,
if (blnCustomerSelected)
{
dim objCustomer = GetObject("Customer")
textbox1.text = objCustomer.FName
textbox2.text = objCustomer.EmailID
....
}
else if product then
{
dim objProduct = GetObject("Product")
textbox1.text = objProduct.Name
textbox2.text = objProduct.Rate
textbox3.text = objProduct.ID
....
..
}
so what would be the definition of GetObject() in this case?
TIA

Sounds like you need to write a factory class. A factory class would check the string passed in, and have a switch or something to return an instance of that type. It looks like you really want to load a specific product/customer here tho, although that's not clear in your getobject call.
Of course, this means that your code is not typesafe, I assume Customer and Product do not have a common base beyond object. But, I guess VB isn't that type safe to begin with.
I presume you don't REALLY have objects called textbox1 and textbox2 in your code ?

Hi Graus,
Thanks for your reply, yes its not my real objects, its just kind of algoritham using which I just wanted to explain what I want,
pls dont consider the syntax just the concept is I need to have object at runtime and my classtime is not fixed, it come at runtime in form of string so if function accepts "class1" then it should return objClass1 which should be a object of class class1
hope now its clear,
Thanks,

The subject line of you post is utterly pointless. You have posted this in the VB.NET forum and then you redundantly used "vb.net" as your subject line. Of course your post is about VB.NET, what else would it be about?
Your subject line should be meaningful: "Need help with OpenFileDialog" or "How to retrieve a .doc file"

You can retrieve any file type you like. However, unless your PC has Word and you use one of the technologies for interoping with Word, you cannot hope to view a .doc file.

If you are asking how to filter the doc files, it can be done as follows.
In the "Filter" property of the opendialog control write this
Word Documents (*.doc)|*.doc

Hello!
That is how I read a value from application config file
GetStatus = System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings("ActivationStatus")
I would like to know how can we update value of a key in application config file?
Thanks

I have a datagridview with a checkbox column. I want to force only one row to be checked at a time. So if one box in the column gets checked the others get unchecked. I'm sure there's a simple solution. Does anyone know it?
Thanks

Check boxes imply multiple items may be checked at the same time. RadioButtons are used for single options. Does a radiobutton work with the datagridview? If it does, then from a user standpoint I would recommend radiobuttons. Plus it may mean you don't need to worry about additional coding. If it doesn't you could probably just loop through each column when an box is checked and make sure the rest are unchecked.

TwoFaced has given you the right solution in the end.retrieve the id of the checkbox which is being clicked....Just Loop through your datagridview....check if any other checkbox is checked or not....if checked make its CheckedState to false other than the checkbox which is clicked...
