Hi!
I have made a small project (in ASP.NET and C#) which connects to SQL Server 2000 Database through an ODBC DSN for which I have written the Query String in the Web.Config File.
The Project is running fine in the ASP Dev. Server.
When I hosted the Site in a Remote Server, its working fine there too.
But
When I am trying to Run it through IIS (locally) (The Project is still the same and No Changes has been made to it), then I am getting the following Error:
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Good Day ALL
I have a UserControl that has a Dropdownlist. In the Hosting Page i have a Ultrawebgrid that gets updated based on the Selecteindexchange event the the dropdown. I have have another Control on the Left hand side that needs to be Updated on Selecteindexchange of the Drop down. Now the Left hand side Control Works and it gets updated but the Grid does not get updated. I have attached a link to photo of my design
http://www.vuyiswamaseko.somee.com/GRid_Update.JPG
Here is a Definition of my Grid
<igtbl:UltraWebGrid ID="Gridstaff" runat="server" Height="158px" StyleSetName="RubberBlack"
Width="400px">
<Bands>
<igtbl:UltraGridBand>
<AddNewRow View="NotSet" Visible="NotSet">
</AddNewRow>
</igtbl:UltraGridBand>
</Bands>
<DisplayLayout BorderCollapseDefault="Separate" LoadOnDemand="Automatic" Name="ctl02xUltraWebGrid1"
RowHeightDefault="20px" SelectTypeRowDefault="Extended" Version="4.00">
<FrameStyle Height="158px" Width="400px">
</FrameStyle>
<ActivationObject BorderColor="" BorderWidth="">
</ActivationObject>
</DisplayLayout>
</igtbl:UltraWebGrid>
Thank you

Sounds like you bought a third party component, and should really be asking them how to use it.

I have Tested with MS Gridview and it does not get updated too.
This is how i Bind the grid.
In my UserControl i have Exposed the event to the Hosting page like this
public event EventHandler SubjectChange;
protected void OnSubjectChange(EventArgs e)
{
if (SubjectChange != null)
{
SubjectChange(this, e);
}
}
and in the selectedindexchange event of the dropdownlist i have the the code like this
OnSubjectChange(e);
and in my Hosting page i have
override protected void OnInit(EventArgs e)
{
this.ActivityCtrl1.TextChanged += new EventHandler(ActivityCtrl1_TextChanged);
InitializeComponent();
base.OnInit(e);
}
and the method InitializeComponent() is defined like this
private void InitializeComponent()
{
this.Load += new System.EventHandler(this.Page_Load);
SubjectSelector1.SubjectChange += new EventHandler(SelectedSubjectChange);
}
and the Subjectchange is Defined like this
private void SelectedSubjectChange(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
LoadControlsForSelectedSubject();
Bind_Staff_Cycle_Grid();
}
the Method Bind_Staff_Cycle_Grid() is the One that Binds the GRid
and i have defined it like this
private void Bind_Staff_Cycle_Grid()
{
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
BLL.BLL obj = new BLL.BLL();
String Subject_Descr = Convert.ToString(Session["SelectedSubject"]);
DataTable dt = new DataTable();
String DB = Convert.ToString(Session["ActiveDatabase"]);
try
{
obj.TRUNCATE_TABLE_FINAL(DB);
dt = obj.Get_Staff_Cycles(Subject_Descr, DB);
if (dt.Rows.Count > 0)
{
Gridstaff.DataSource = dt;
Gridstaff.DataBind();
UpdatePanel2.Update();
}
}
catch (SqlException ex)
{
lblGridStaff.Text = ex.Message;
}
finally
{
obj = null;
}
}
}
and my Gridview's Defination is
<asp:GridView ID="Gridstaff" runat="server" OnSelectedIndexChanged="Gridstaff_SelectedIndexChanged"
Width="385px">
</asp:GridView>
Thanks

Remove if (!Page.IsPostBack) from Bind_Staff_Cycle_Grid. Becuase IsPostBack will always be true SelectedIndexChanged event.
Therefore the code inside the if(!Page.IsPostBack) will not be executed in that event.

If you set breakpoints in all these methods, what do you find ?

Hello All,
I want to draw a rectangle by using any image. Can any one please help me on this?
Thanks

Your question makes no sense. Try asking it again.
The only ways to draw images on an ASP.NET webpage, are SVG ( if they can be forced to install it ), CSS ( if you want to draw just a rectangle ) or through styling the page with bitmap images.

Hi Friends,
I have an web application being hosted in webserver in which multiple files are being uploaded at once. At some point of Time,it takes too much of time to upload those multiple files(Due to large in size).So i have thought of first upload those files to local system Folder being predefined(client system) and at the end of the day by using some scheduler or some button click,Move all those files to server folder.
Now,What i need is,Is it possible to trace out the client system from web application and move those files to Some Client Folder for time being.
If Possible, Pls let me Know Friends.
Thanks a lot,
Hope there will be positive response as soon as possible,

Of course not. You could write a client side app you ask them to install, which submits your images. What makes you think your image files will get smaller after business hours ?

Do you mean how to generate the template ? A simple way is to put markers in your boilerplate text, and use the string.Format method to insert your values.

You mean through IIS locally ? Did you consider telling us what the error is, or do we get a prize if we guess ?

These do not close a page. window.close() will, with a prompt for the user ( this is javascript, obviously ). I would hope it goes without saying that no codebehind will close the browser.

Not sure what you meant by "close"
1. You can close the window by using javascript - window.close()
2. It is not possible to close from ASP.NET
