Hi,
I am using an objectdatasource with gridview. I have enabled paging for my datasource and gridview. It works great but there is one problem. On same page, i also have brands dropdownlistbox so one can chose between different kinds of laptops. The first item is "All". All selects quite a number of rows and there can be upto 20 pages. For dell laptops, i have only 2 models in table. What happens is that if a person navigates to page 10 in All devices and then changes the dropdown to Dell, there are no records in the grid. I have debugged and it happens because startrowindex is not 0. I am using mysql and have used limit. If a person is on page 1, one can see the 2 dell models.
How would i be able to solve this problem?. Sorry if its a stupid question, Is there anyway in which i can change the startrowindex to 0 in DropDownlistbox change index event?

When binding the grid view after changing drop down list, try setting the PageIndex property of GridView to 0.

But please, explain to me how to use the confirm method. When I used it an error is displayed on compilation "The name confirm dosen't exist in the current context"?? Do I have to provide code for this method before calling it?

You use it as I've given within a JavaScript block on your page, nothing more. Perhaps you could show a sample that is giving you problems, or search this site or others for examples.

Hi Mark,
The problem is that I'm using C# to write my code. On confirming the delete message, my program should delete all information related to a student. So I create a new SQLDataSource and then write the delete command as follows.
SQLDataSource DeleteStudentInfo = new SQLDataSource();
DeleteStudentInfo.DeleteCommand = "Delete From Student Where StudentID = @StudentID";
Then I identify my delete parameters.

You don't. JavaScript is run on the client, C# code is run on the server. I think you should reread a couple chapters in the book or ask the professor or TA for help, your missing some concepts.

Honstly, I don't know anything about javascript, only heard about it.
But you don't have any suggestions for me? Actually I don't know where to insert the code you have given me?
Do you know a professor or TA that I can ask? Also, Do you have a good book that I can work with it easily?

I just trying to get a result from a http get request to another domain webpage. Here is my javascript funtion for the request:

wRequest.add_completed(completed);
wRequest.invoke();

If I use set_url for a webpage in the same site, it works fine, otherwise it cames blank (not denied, just empty, no error). I was looking around and saw something about proxy... Do I need proxy here? If so, can you tell how to do it? If not, is there any web.config solution or something?

Have you checked wRequest.status? If it is 200 then it is OK. Else, you got error.

I'm developing an acsx which has an Accordion control inside a CollapsePanel. If the control loads with the CollapsePanel collapsed, when I expand or collapse panes in the Accordion control the panel which comprises the CollapsePanel's body resizes accordingly with the Accordion pane. If the control loads with the CollapsePanel expanded, the CollapsePanel's body does not resize with resizing on the AccodionPanes. However, if I collapse and expand the CollapsePanel then it starts working as expected. I have tried expanding the CollapsePanel by default by setting the Property on the CollapsePane in design mode and throught code in page_load (setting Collapse=true and ClientState="true"). Either way the behavior is the same. I am using .NET 2.0 with VS2005. I am using toolkit version 1.0.20229.20821.

As per I know, FileUpload control file path cant be modified from the server. The user will have to click browse button to select a file. You can upload the file and then change the filename in the server.

most of the HTML control shows tooltip for Title I think. Place your tooltip text in the Title attribute of the html controls.
You can also hook the mouseover to the control to place a floating tooltip element created using DIVs...
