First in the page_load event of the for in the code behind. You will want to have:
If (!IsPostBack)
{
Type t = this.Page.GetType();
this.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(t, "resizeWindow",
"window.moveTo(0,0);window.resizeTo(500,500);", true);
}
So it will run once the first time the page is loaded.

Hi,
I am using asp.net c# in my project
i want to validate users using certificate authentication for that i want to install and issue certificate in client browser..but the problem is doing this we need "Microsoft Certificate Services " my os is windows XP professional is not support this facility what to do? please help me.i am really need your help.....waiting fo your response...

i created a global.asax file in the poject.There is a page by the name of
default.aspx.at it's form load i write the following code

in the global.asax file session end function i wrote the following code
Sub Session_End(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
If (Session("abc") Is Nothing) Then
End If
End Sub
because i was thinking , if the session value expires then the global.asax file session end function will get called.
I am thinking right?

When the particular session values expires , then i want the control to go to the session end function , but it does not goes to the session end function.

This depends on how you are ending session. If you are using Session.End(), I think event won't be fired. But if you use Session.Abandon() it will fire event. Your sites session timeout will be set to 20mins by default. If it is a normal session out, session_end event will be fired.

Session values doesn't expire. Only the session itself can expire.

This is only true if you are storing your session "InProc" If you are using a session server or sql server to store session you will not get an end session event.

View state is a property of Web Forms page and each control of the page to save their values so it can be used between round trips to the server.
When the page is processed, the current state of the page and controls is inserted into a string and saved in the page as a hidden field. When the page is posted back to the server, the page parses the view state string at page initialization and restores property information in the page.

viewstate is stored as an encoded string in your web page. It's read back and used along with the values from the page's post, to create a new instance of the page class, containing the state of the page when the user posted it back.
Basically, it's the mechanism used so your code can ask what text was in a textbox, and get the right answer.

No, we're making it all up.

The page means the code that is sent to the browser. If it were not sent to the browser, how would it record the state of controls on the browser ? I recommend you buy a book on ASP.NET and work through it, these are fundamental things that you need to understand better than you're likely to based on forum replies.

When you are viewing page in browser, there is no code behind file. Viewstate will be stored in the page you are viewing as hidden field(HTML element). It will be encrypted. HTTP is stateless. So ASP.NET team created a mechanism called viewstate to maintain data across postbacks.

I have a Linkbutton like:

The CssClass "lbtnStyle5" is like:

My problem is that when I disable the linkbutton it looses it's style,
it's OK that it turns grey, but I don't want it to loose it's font-family, font-size and font-weight.
Is it possible to add an disable style to a linkbutton, or solve it by CssClass?
Something like:
a.lbtnStyle5:disabled {text-decoration: none; font-family: Arial; font-size: 8pt; font-weight:bold}

hi all
its like this when i am using reports
i am using xml ok my xml structure is not predefined it would keep varying
generally what we do is
1) create file.xml
2)add object to report
3)drag all the elements from object to the report
4)add source in the report viewer.
this is doing good now
i dont want to drag and drop my xml my vary (for each request of user it varies) so what i want is the xml which comes into file.xml accordingly to its xslt report should be generated (i,e dynamic creation of report )
is it possible
please help me
