On what basis do you expect that we know how to solve this, without knowing the model of scanner, and, as others have said, why are you not asking the people who provided the scanner ?

Solution 1

You should talk to the people who created the scanner - they should provide technical support and will know more about their product than we will. If they don't, then find another supplier and demand your money back!

The device manufacturer probably provides an API to access scan info. Please check the documentation.

In the housing of the scanner, there is a red laser, that is reflected by a turning mirror and thus creates the illusion of a red laser line. When this "line" is pointed on a barcode, the areas printed in black colour reflect the light differently than the left out white areas. This reflected light is then detected by the barcode-reader again. That is how the barcode-scanner reads the codes.
