Hi CPians,
I would like to request for a feature in CP. A user should be able to get an email notification when a new article is published in the series of articles he is following. E.g today part 1 of "Peeling the mango" is released. I would really like to follow-up on this series and get notified when a new one is posted. So if this feature is posted i would just tick the check box "Receive follow-up notifications" and will be notified whenever it is updated/bug fixed/new article is posted.
Regards

A good solution would be that you bookmark an article to show interest and then get an e-mail to inform you of any changes or follow ups. That would require the author to mark the new article as a follow up. Just an idea.

Just received a load of Service unavailable errors. I thought you'd brought in a load of new uberhamsters.

The Überhamsters have not been fitted with the control collars yet.

Have you got your cricket team sorted out? It was really frustrating trying to keep it down to 1 million, especially with the restrictions on the players you could pick.
|
|
|
|

For that, probably you must select 1 or 2 low-cost players like Mukund, Saha, etc.,

Same here.
Really frustrating, I need my CP fix

A brand new, fresh out of the box server decided it was a little too precious this morning.
I've had a discussion with it.

[Rant]
Yesterday I had 57K in reputation points and when I looked today it had gone down to 56.7K. A little over 300 reputation points had dissipated over night. Probably has to do with questions getting deleted. There seems to be some kind of f**ktardery going on.
[/Rant]
There I feel better already!

O common what's 300 points among friends?
Seriously tho check your reputation history that might explain a bit what happened.

I didn't try for stylishness, it just seemed the only fitting word that came to mind!

My apologies, but a member went on a downvoting spree so all his votes were removed, including some upvotes. The script to remove the votes is a little limited and so I need to resync manually this morning.

As Tom also suggested I actually had checked my reputation history where I couldn't find any hints of why the points were lost. Do I read you right that the described action you took does not leave a trace in the reputation history?
BTW do points lost due to deleted questions show up in the reputation history?
Cheers!

Correct.

No. Gone is gone.
These cases are, thankfully, rare, but I do realise they can be disheartening. However, the effect they have on other authors and those helping in the forums by their downvotes is worse. Once a member goes on a voting rampage it's hard to sort out valid from invalid votes (both up and down) so I have no option but to wipe the damage from the system.

Regardless of the reason or what you had to do to fix this problem, I strongly urge you to implement some kind of point notification tool that will make appropriate entries in member's logs. I think Manfred is justified by his concern over the complete lack of any entry. As you remember, I recently had 70,000 points added, without a single blip in my log. Even a generic Points adjusted due to post removal would at least give people a clue that something had happened.
