Yesterday I had 57K in reputation points and when I looked today it had gone down to 56.7K. A little over 300 reputation points had dissipated over night. Probably has to do with questions getting deleted. There seems to be some kind of f**ktardery going on.

Seriously tho check your reputation history that might explain a bit what happened.

My apologies, but a member went on a downvoting spree so all his votes were removed, including some upvotes. The script to remove the votes is a little limited and so I need to resync manually this morning.

As Tom also suggested I actually had checked my reputation history where I couldn't find any hints of why the points were lost. Do I read you right that the described action you took does not leave a trace in the reputation history?
BTW do points lost due to deleted questions show up in the reputation history?

No. Gone is gone.
These cases are, thankfully, rare, but I do realise they can be disheartening. However, the effect they have on other authors and those helping in the forums by their downvotes is worse. Once a member goes on a voting rampage it's hard to sort out valid from invalid votes (both up and down) so I have no option but to wipe the damage from the system.

Regardless of the reason or what you had to do to fix this problem, I strongly urge you to implement some kind of point notification tool that will make appropriate entries in member's logs. I think Manfred is justified by his concern over the complete lack of any entry. As you remember, I recently had 70,000 points added, without a single blip in my log. Even a generic Points adjusted due to post removal would at least give people a clue that something had happened.

That would have been round about the same time that codeproject was unavailable briefly, maybe an update in progress at the time.

There seems to be a difference in points between the "about" page and the reputation graph. For me its as high as a 90 point difference.
Not sure if one or the other is lagging since the last change to the computation of points.

The rss blogs don't seem to pick up the CodeProject tag when it's in CDATA.
It's defined like this:
<category>
Is it because it's in CDATA? Or is there another problem? I used to have a working blog connected to CodeProject but I've since deleted it and attached a new one. Could that be the problem?
