See this question I asked. I noticed two problems:
- When I posted the question, the code comment got changed from "// Shows [block] rather than [crazy character]" to "// Shows [block][block] rather than [crazy character]" (i.e., an extra block was added). The second block is even there when I subsequently edit the question.
- The preview functionality doesn't seem to like that character. As soon as I add it, the preview stops updating. However, the preview functionality seems to work fine with the double block.

Preview seems to be behaving now but I keep getting 2 for the price of 1. I'll add a bug report.

It says: Sorry, the item you requested could not be found.

It needs approval, so it might not be visible to all (be thankful for that).

It is not a particularly good tip, I agree, but from what I can see (after editing it) it fulfills the requirements.
Or am I missing something?

I answered a question, and the question was later deleted, but when it was, 16 points were subtracted instead of just 10. That doesn't seem right.

Did you comment/vote/edit on the question? That will cost you points too when the thread's deleted.

I don't think so...
EDIT ==========
Nope, I just answered it - no comments or votes made.

Ahh, well votes evidently aren't indicated on deleted items.
But if the question, and thus my answer, was deleted, shouldn't those points be restored? The reason I ask is because there's no indication that points are restored in the Recent Points list.

I dunno: should points be modified when a question is deleted? If so, then when you answer a question and the OP deletes it because he doesn't want anyone else to benefit, should you loose the points for answering in the first place?
I don't see that you can have the one without the other.

If you answer a question, and then delete it, you lose the points for the answer. And if your answer was voted down, you get those points back. However, that change in points also doesn't show up in your recent points list.

Customising the .NET Panel control[^]
The download links inside this article are down, author said[^] he did not even touch it for years
I also tried to browse the code but its empty too. As well as it says
If a file you wish to view isn't highlighted, and is a text file (not binary), please let us know and we'll add colourisation support for it.
The link in "let us know" is referring to about page of codeproject , which I think should goes to report page.

I've fixed the downloads (found 'em in the top shelf in a back cupboard) and will get the white-out for the typo.

The article has been removed.
I must get a clever new signature for 2011.

When I go to that link, it says:
This article has not yet been approved for publication by our membership. It should be available soon.
That indicates to me that the article exist but has not been approved.

You can't see it? To me it is still there in pending state and with no approve button.

I suppose I don't have enough author reputation points to see it.

Strange. Maybe I just need to request to be an editor or something.

Yes, I get that as well, although it was visible yesterday. In fact, I was involved in a message exchange with the author. I think there are a few pending statuses that articles sometimes go through before reaching their final resting places.

I noticed that you cleaned up the carpet uni-voting that occurred in the lounge earlier today.
This has however exposed a 'bug'.
2 of my messages in a thread got 1 voted (and then 5 voted by someone else to counter).
The cleaning up left the message with 1 vote of 5 but my reputation has remained the same
The stats say:
15 Feb 2011 10:36 AM General Forum Message Upvoted Debator Forum Message Re: Bless... 24
15 Feb 2011 10:35 AM General Forum Message Upvoted Debator Forum Message Re: Bless... 24
15 Feb 2011 10:31 AM General Forum Message Downvoted Debator Forum Message Re: Bless... -4
15 Feb 2011 10:31 AM General Forum Message Downvoted Debator Forum Message Re: Bless... -4
So twice I got -4 for the down-vote and twice +24 for the up-vote.
But now that the down-votes are removed the -4's are still there (and my reputation hasn't gone up with 8 in that time).
Just thought I'd point it out, for me this is a very minor something in reputation points but I can imagine that for certain members it could run into the 100's of points missing.
