What's annoying...

I guess I just don't know what "the edge" is.
Nadella: Computing experiences are evolving to include multiple senses and are no longer bound to one device at a time but increasingly spanning many as we move from home to work and on the go.
"Multiple senses"?!? Or maybe, hearing and vision alone. I don't want to smell my computer. 
That multiple senses point seems to have leaked into his thoughts from the idea of multiple devices.
Yes, I do want to be able to access content from multiple devices.
I do like his reference to conway's law and do think that is a large barrier at microsoft.

This feels like a term that the nerds (Microsoft) make up while the cool kids (Apple) sit at a distance and laugh.

Maybe the senses he is referring to are sight, hearing, and touch. When I was working on augmented and virtual reality devices and associated software, I also had to incorporate haptics into the system. The next evolution into augmented and virtual reality is the ability to touch the object(s) you are looking at. We were working on training simulators to train Apache helicopter maintenance personnel.
You wouldn't believe the number of offers we were getting from the porn industry for the technology. 
When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others.
Same thing when you are stupid.
