hi all , i have a question here an easy one jus need somebody to help me with..
i have 2 application in two different separate proj, how do i go abt linking up the 2 of them..
i thought one of way which is to use a link label however i will get two entry points problem..
can someone come up with a betta idea????

ok wht i mean is i have a main application which i wanna link to my second application.. if i make the second application as a second form of my first application i have pro debugging like as there will be an error due to 2 entry points..i try deleting the entry point of the second application it cant work... how do i solve this???

Get rid of hte second static void main when you copy the classes across. That's the entry point, so remove one.

hi all,in my application i need to store the word document(minimum 100kb of size) in to the database for searching the document content.I done it by using stream reader(ie:using stream reader i read the entire document and store it in to single column of the table)initially it works fine but now the number of records in the database is nearly 2000 and it take too much time to display the result.Is there any way to do this....

What result? You only describe the process you use to store the documents. You also have to descibe the process you use to create the result, or the only advice you will get is guesswork.

that is,the document i am storing in the database contain some informations about particular person when the user gives like "games" and click on search button it will search for the word "games" in all the word document that are present in the db(,if it present) then the entire detail of the all matched records will be displayed in the grid(like name,age,etc..).here i use the like query ie) "select * from tab.name where skill like games"

Exactly how do you store the decuments in the database? If you would store the documents as binary data, you wouldn't be able to search them like that.
How do you need to serach the information? Do you need a free text seach, or are you only going to search for specific keywords? If the later, then I would suggest that you extract the keywords when you create the record, and store the keywords in a separate table, so that you can make a much more efficient query.

This approach was obviously flawed from day one. You need to read your word docs to search them, your database is an extra overhead, and not the tool it should be. You need to store keywords with your word doc if you want efficient searching.

Hello,
I set the TypeConverter attribute of a class named MyFilter to typeof MyFilterConverter derived from TypeConverter.
[TypeConverter(typeof(MyFilterConverter))]
public class MyFilter
{
}
public class MyFilterConverter : TypeConverter
{
}
My executing assembly gets access to it by dynamically loading an assembly containing these 2 classes.
Eveything works fine as long as the executing and the dynamically loaded assembly are in the same directory. If this is not true the TypeConverter attribute will be ignored - easily proved by setting MyFilter as selected object in a property grid.
string fp = FILEPATH_FOR_DynamicLoad;
Assembly assembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(fp);
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.

I have seen something similar happen in the past with attributes disappearing, but I cant recall the details now. And no, I never did find a solution

hello,
does anyone know a way to access all the Forms that are available in an application at design-time in Visual Studio? I need to get access even to Forms that are currently not opened in Visual Studio, getting the class names of these forms would be enough, then I could instantiate them by myself.

Have you tried to click on a project, then go to the project menu at top of screen and select Show all files. This will display all files currently inside that project, even those that have not yet been added to visual studio.

Hi all,
iam developing a project in C#.net 2.0.
Here i need to connect to the HP9000 database and open two connections one after the other. Till here i have done it well. After opening two seperate connections in two seperate windows i should be able work independently. But by the time i open the second connection it is closing the first one and returning the results of program run using second connection.
I need to use asynchronous programming here............
Can any one help me out................
