Hi,
You are use following tips/suggestions/whatever 
1. Dont use INSERT when "LOADING" the data, use BULK INSERT
2. You can convert the data into c# format, and dump it as required in some temporary file, and bulk insert data using that file. If you are good at threading, you can boost the performance considerably.
3. If you are comfortable with Dynamic SQL, use it after converting data to c# datatypes.
And if you are good in threading and dynamic SQL then you can have a boost in performance as "complete loading of a 45 GigaBytes of data to 12 tables in 1.5 hours". That is what i experienced once!
Hope that much performance is enough for now and you find it useful!

I'm Having a combobox which having items from itemtable. When table is empty then I have to show "No items" and if items are their in table then I have to show the item. So I fill datatable like
if (dataTableItems.Rows.Count >= 1)
{
cmbItem.Items.Clear();
cmbItem.DataSource = dataTableItems;
cmbItem.DisplayMember = dataTableItems.Columns["ItemName"].ColumnName;
}
else
{
cmbItem.Items.Clear();
cmbItem.Items.Add("No items");
cmbItem.Text = "No items";
}
This is working fine on form's load event.
But I have a button that will get items from other datatsource and fill the item tables. On click of the button I again fill the datatable and same code

cmbItem.DataSource = dataTableItems;
cmbItem.DisplayMember = dataTableItems.Columns["ItemName"].ColumnName;

}
But it will give error "Items collection cannot be modified when the DataSource property is set."

First you should set the combobox's datasource to nothing:
cmbItem.DataSource = string.Empty;

cmbItem.DataSource = null;
This is working fine.

The connection is irrelevant, you need to connect to another machine that has the file, and request it. Do you have an IP address and path to the file ?
