Depends on the network. Is there a Windows network running with at least one mount point on each machine? If so, you could just do a normal copy with a UNC path (e.g.; \\mymachine\mymountpoint\somefolder).
If not, you could always FTP it either interfacing with ftp.exe or writing something yourself.

Hello,
I'm working with VB.NET and want to write a programm which includes a
Listview, that should work like the view in the explorer.
The problem is that i can not move the items (shown as LargeIcons) in the listview.
Every Item should be able to be placed everywhere within the Listview.
(e.g. it should be possible that one Icons is over an other Icon)
I also want do drag and drop Listviewitems between to ListViews,
i created a new DataObject wich includs the ListViewItem and send it with the DoDragDrop function.
But if i drop the item on the other ListView, i first have to clone the Item and then delete the one in the origin ListView.
Is there any simpler method to realise that ?

Hi there, I need some help with ADO. Right now i have a
program written in VB using ADO. I have the connection
string hard coded to a specific database. How do make it
so the ado will look in an ini at the second line and change the connection string to the one in the ini file. Do i have to remove the connection string in the program? Please help.

If the connection string has been entered into a property in the properties window, you will need to delete it.
Then, you will have to read in the ini file yourself (using either standard file access methods, or GetPrivateProfileString API call) and set the ConnectionString property to be the string that is read out.
ADO wont automatically go looking in an ini file.

I built a dll in VB to run under internet explorer. Into the dll I need to open a new window, but I need to access the methods and variables into the dll in the new page. Does anyone know how can I do this?

When you said that you made a .dll that runs under Internet Explorer did you mean within IE, such as a component for an .asp page, or did you mean that you are using a pluggin to access the Internet from a VB app? The solution should be rather simple in either situation. For example:

Hi !
With windows, you can change the scrollbar size in the control panel for the display. I'm using this feature because my app is supposed to be used with a touch screen, and the normal scrollbar size is too small for a finger.
I would like to know how I can read this scrollbar size from my VB 6.0 application, so that I can dynamically adapt the layout.
Does anyone know how to do that ?

Hello,
I'm new to building applications that will run on servers and I would ike to know if anyone could help me.
I'm looking to build an application that will keep on running even after the administrator has logged off of the system. (Ie SQL Server, IIS) I've already made it so that the application will show up in the system tray.
Would anyone have any suggestions or be able to point me in a direction?

You need to create a Windows Service. If you're using .Net, it should be quite simple. If you're using VB6, use C++!

Hi!
I did a installer using the Visual Basic Installer but after instalation, only the one who installed the application can use the program (installed). I dont know if I have to change something on the vb project (used by Visual Basic Installer) or change the instaler's code.

This sounds more like a permissions problem on the target computer than a programming or installation problem. What OS is it installing to?
Win2K has caused me some headaches after installing even commercial MS products. Only an Admin can install them, but after I did an installation for the user and had the owner log in, the app went away. Locating the program was no problem, but I had to manually change the permissions for each app to allow users to open them.
