I'm biased towards C# cause it is what I know. I tried Java a few years ago and I couldn't find a comparable IDE for development. I'm sure I'll get blasted with Eclipse or something else, but they are [or at least were last time I used them] a pain in the butt to set up. Then you have to get 100 plug ins to make them actually do what you want. Visual Studio just installs and works! Thanks Microsoft!!!
