Im using the gridview control.I tried to add Records and press enter before completing
Edit item Template becomes Enabled Can any one help me..

Am used html editor in asp.net. But while i click any item like Bold, or Italic and drag it will paste inside the editor. To avoid this i used FreeTextBox. But it is not Wkg in Safari browsers. Pls anyone help me!!!!!!

I have a grid view control that is defined by data binding.
One of the columns has a really long value so i want to set that the value inside it will jump a line after something like 30 letters. I tried to use the event DataBound to change the column style after the data binding but for some reason it looks like it didn't enter the event and nothing changed.
Does anyone have an idea on how to do what I need or can tell me what went wrong with the way I tried to do it?

It would shurely help if you post your code.
What did you check in the OnRowDataBound-event?
Did you check this if the row was a DataRow?
i.e.:
if (e.Row.RowType.Equals(DataControlRowType.DataRow))
{
}
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Im working on Fragment Caching, since "Location" attribute is not defined for the user controls. Im looking for help to make the Caching specific either to Client or Server Side. And also i wanted to delete the cache according to the CacheKey ... Thanks in advance.

Which means that SMTP server is not running. Start the SMTP server, so that it will send from queue folder.

Hi buddy, i guess there are some problems on the settings of the SMTP Virtual Server when you said failure to send a mail.
I suggest you should check the settings of the SMTP Virtual Server as fellowing steps:
1) Open [Properties]->[Access]->[Relay...].
2) Check on [Only the list below] and add the IP address 127.0.0.1 on the dialog "Relay Restrictions".
3) Open [Properties]->[Messages], then enlarge the size of "Limit message size to" to send a bigger attachment with a mail.

no attachements in my mail.......only two small text lines as body of the mail......but i,ve increased message size setting from 2048 kb to 5000 kb....
still the same result
PS there is also a proxy server in between

Hi all. ajax is giving me heart burn again and I was wondering if somebody could help. I've got a treeview in an updatepanel conected to a timer. This is supposed to rebuild the treeview every minute or so. All good sofar right... Wrong The treeview does not show up after the rebuild. Can someone tell me why this is happening.

If you test with Firefox/Firebug, you can step into the code and see what is happening. I don't like the ASP.NET AJAX library because it leaves you with issues like that, I prefer to actually use AJAX.

I think it was that FireFox is easier to use for debugging.

Just fininshed testing between 10 other things and its still breaking the same way as in ie. Nothing comes up in the error console so I have no idea where to go from here.

Have you checked your server side code - are you actually rebinding this properly, does the datasource get set correctly?

Yip. Here is waht happens. The treeview builds fine the first time when the page is loaded. Then when the timer fires the treeview dissapears. Same code is used for both the Page_Load event and the Tick event. My logic tells me that it is not the code it is something else

Hi,
I got an error "A security exception was not handled in your code" when i try to open a page using server.transfer.But when changed the application server it worked perfectly. what could be the issue? Is it an IIS configuration issue ,Server configuration issue or any other..

when i click on a link, and by the time it processes the request if i move the mouse to other parts of the page the page stops processing and shows Done. but this does not happen at all time.
can anyone suggest why this is happening?
i recently observed it on the microsoft mcp site too.

What processing are you doing on hyperlink click ? Can you put some code?

Hi all,
Url referrer is working is server side is fine. but from client side is not working any solution , my senario is i have a button , when i clicks new page is open from client side , so from the new page load i cant take the request.urlreferrer value, some how i want to take the previous url . so anyone knows solution plz let me know very urgent.

A better way is to save the UrlReferrer to a named session i.e. Session["YourPageUrlReferrer"] = Request.UrlReferrer.ToString(). When you want to go back the previous page, you can use the value stored in the session i.e. string urlReferrer = this.Session["YourPageUrlReferrer"].ToString().
