i don't think it is rude, but i don't even want to go into discussion with someone who makes those remarks. if you have a problem and you don't know the answer it is quite common to communicate in a civil way about this. why else do you buy books with examples and does the internet exists with loads of comments and examples about things. isn't that the way you began when you first started programming. so please don't go this way and act like an adult or else don't reply on this post.

i am reading a line from text file using system.io.streamreader.

now after closing that object, i want to delete the same line using something.

what control i need to use so that i can read that and after delete the line?

hi every body
i`ve Asp.Net project built in vs 2005 and ado.net
now i update this project to vs 2008 and use linq in it
i`ve built linq to sql class and get all tables and the procedures in it

but when i use any procedures in any page i found all the variables in this page doesn`t have any value and give me "property evaluation failed"

Sesseions, Viewstate, Variables
all of this give me the same error "Property evaluation failed"

plz any body can give me the solution ??

Tell me Something,

Do you really understand what that vb6 DLL does ? if you do why don't you write the Functionality in .NET

With VB6 stuff you will always have Problems when you bring them to the world of .NET

Fix the dll, or it's config. Read the docs that came with it, if you didn't write it. Or, as someone said, get out of the dark ages and stop using anything written in VB6.

hi i am doing an application from which i have to send a mail to the peoples of which i can get the mail ID from the text box.

this is the code i have written.

using System.Net.Mail;
using System.Web.Mail;

mail.To = emailID.Text.ToString().Trim();
mail.Subject = "Focus Consultancy Online Test-User ID & Pasword";

SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "localhost";
SmtpMail.Send(mail);

this is the error i got,

The server rejected one or more recipient addresses. T
he server response was: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xxx@xxx.com

Please help me in solving this

Make sure all email addresses specified at MailMessage.To, MailMessage.Cc, MailMessage.Bcc and MailMessage.From are valid email addresses.
Make sure you have permissions to relay through the server.
Make sure the MailMessage.From has permissions to relay through the server.

Hey hi bhiravan,

I hope the line SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "localhost" line creates the main problem.
As ur specifying the server name as local host it doesnot allow all the other domain email addresses except your domain.So you need change the server name as "127.1.1.0" which is a global server address and even you need to change the smtp virtual server settings in IIS.

Goto start->run->inetmgr where u will get ur IIS settings.right click on the Default smtp server and goto properties,go to Access tab,click on connection tab,then click on Add tab.There you need to enter ip address as 127.1.1.0 then click on ok.

Then try it out.I hope now it works.

I'm trying to run an aspx application. But I get the error "Access to the path c:\\....\\sth.xml is denied." I have granted the asp group full control permission. where is the problem?
