Use the SelectedIndexChanged event, I am pretty sure that the sender on that event is the CheckBox that you want.

As I mentioned, I tried that and ended up with the CheckBoxList as the sender - the source of my problem. Anyway - thanks.

You were given the only possible answer. You can know which items are selected, but you'll need to maintain a list of previously selected items, to work out which item was changed.

This still works if you're using forms. There was no such event in ASP.NET, ever.

Hello Christian,
If the CheckBoxList is databound, in the page load, I get the information from the table and bound it with the CheckBoxList - If(!Page.IsPostBack){...}.
Therefore, some boxes appear as selected based on the table data.
Now, when a selected box is clicked - I need to do 2 things - i) know which one was clicked and based on that, ii) delete info from the table and refresh the display based on new info.
The problem - since the CheckBoxList is databound, when a selected one is clicked - if I don't delete that record from the table, the de-selection doesn't work. Even if I maintain a list of selected ones, now with a click if I don't know which one was clicked - I cannot delete it from the table. So maintaining a list here is not helping.
But I am sure you can indicate the right direction.

You have a list, and items that are checked, the user clicks on an item to select which one to delete ? Sounds like you need to rethink your UI.

Yes, like the list displays notification options. The user selects them to be notified when an event occurs. Then later on, user can change mind and de-select one - indicating he/she doesn't want to be notified in that event. Thats why I need to delete it from the table.

Hello,
I am trying to other user controls within a single control. A couple of them reside in another assembly (AjaxToolkit), and one resides within the assembly I am trying to create. How do you link to these other control to utilize in a composite control. They are all created with the $create method. ANy ideas or documentation would be appreciated.

I'm using VB.net
I successfully created a node, then seconds after, in the same procedure, for reasons not needing explanation here, I want to update an attribute in that node using xmldoc.selectsingle node. But I get a runtime error. In debug mode, the node reads as nothing.
I checked the XML and the node is there and the path in the xmlnode declaration is correct.
I created a seperate page, using only the update portion of the "creation/then update" procedure mentioned above. It works fine!?!?!
The update code is idential in the two procedures. Is there something I am missing that causes the node not to be recognized seconds after created in same procedure. I know it does not make sense but I just cannot understand why I am getting a runtime error in the first procedure.

I need a small help.
For the time bieng, I am designing a site.
When I select a country, the state Drop down List should display the states of that particular country only.
Well, it happens. But the problem is,the form is refreshed from the server side.
I want the form to be refreshed from the client side.
Do you know any other method or script that will refresh from the client side?
I have enabled Auto Post Back.Data populates from the database to the combo(Drop down List).
Can we solve the above question by disabling the Auto Post Back option also, and how?

Use ASP.Net AJAX "UpdatePanel" Control and move all your DropDownList Controls inside it, then set the triggers of UpdatePanel to event when Selected Item Changed on DropDownList, and it will generate some client side code for you for partial page update. so no coding is required. Also set the auto postback to "false".
If you dont know what is ASP.Net AJAX Control Toolkit, then download it from ajax.asp.net. there is a video tutorial available on that site, which will describe you how to setup the toolkit with your web application and how to use the UpdatePanel Control.

Probably this is not a question to ask in this forum . but I could not decide. Just putting things in abstract level. I have a primary function which insert some rows to DB0 tables and calls subFun1 and SubFUn2 who connection to different databases and insert some rows in tables in there.
Say I get error in subFun2 function I need to rollback everything what was inserted till that point from DB0 tables, DB1 tables and may from DB2 tables also. How to achive that here?
If exception occurs in subFun2, it will throw exception to primary function and only DB2 and DB0 transactions will be rolled back but not from the DB1 transactions. Any workaround for this

According to my understanding Create a Connection and Transaction object in primary function for both sub function and then pass it to the both sub function instead of creating in sub functions. Then you can easily handle transaction control in Primary function.

U can't directly access QueryString in aspx page Put it in a hidden control (in Code behind) and then access it using JavaScript

Where its working fine ? How did you change the color ? obviously using css . and its working in IE only isn't it.
But , AFAIK, FireFox does not support to change Div scroll color using CSS. If you want to implement it, try to using javascript.
Now you can take help from google.

Hi, I'm working in Asp.Net & code behind vb.net (VS 2005). I've added Crystal Report and added 3 tables
There are 3 tables called Table1, Table2 and Table3, which are used in to the crystal reports. The field names, EmpName of Table1, EmpQualification of Table2 and EmpAddType of Table3 are dragged into my Report. "pEmpCode" is added as a parameter by using Parameter Field in Field Explorer. EmpCode is the common field of those 3 tables. But links have never given. Employee data are in Table1 But, Table2 and Table3 may have or may not his data. I have to pass EmpCode from my code behind. But How I have to link pEmpCode with EmpCode of the tables.
If I map, then only I can get the required record.

 Well,I think you do not understand me.Recently i went to a cyber cafe.They use cable broad band.Means every user is in lan.For surfing internet they have to log in first.This log in page is automatically provide by local server.Log in url is like "http://192.168.183.200:8080/alliance/login.do".Other wise sign in into local server you can not surf internet.

As i know "login.do" is a servlet page.Whole system is worked in between lan computers.I think it can be possible to integrate by asp.net also.

I am developing a website with russian language. I declared utf8 encoding in web.config and i have declared globalization tag in web.config. I defined charset attribute in connectionstring as utf8.It works fine in local mysql database.But if i upload the same page in server the data stored in database as question marks.Please give me an idea to solve this problem.
