Hello friend!
i've faced a problem
i want to show an image in <asp:image> server control. the image is in bytes. i want to show the image in the image control directly,i.e.,
without using any .aspx file to convert the byte in image.
is there any way to achieve this?
pls help me.

The only way to do this, is to write an http handler that sends the bytes down in response to a URL to that handler being placed in an img control. Unless you only want to show an image for the whole page, then just response.BinaryWrite

There are articles on this site that cover this. If you type 'http handler image asp.net' into google, you find tons of info, more detailed than a forum reply.
Basically you create a http handler ( it's an ashx from memory ) and in it, you read an id from the URL to load the image from the DB and use Response.BinaryWrite to stream it. Then your img tags link to that handler, with the right image Id in the URL.
If you didn't understand what I just said, you are too new to be doing this task, take a step back, buy a book and work up to it.

A command button inside gridview refreshes the gridview immediately but a link button doesn't so how can i get the same functionlaty with link button if not posiible how can i add such command button by myself

ok i gridview detailview we have autoganerate insert button edite buttonn and deletebutton right? so when we do any action from them the control gets gridview or detail view get refreshed immediately but not with link button i know linkbutton gives postback but how can i achieve so thing like command button from link button is the solution refreshing the whole page again.

hmm Im not sure I understand you but linkbutton does not have an onclick event so when you use linkbutton I think it re-loads the entire page so this isnt what you want.

link button have the onlclick event i am just wondering how the autgenerate insert button can refresh the gridview only and not by the link button that we add. the code that i have supplied should refresh the asp:label but it doesnt not whenn i am getting value to asp:lable from database is it that i have to reload the whole page

e.g.

Hi Friends..
I am having a login page (.aspx) which is a pop up page..Now i maintain a session in this login page to hold the username in the session..Now i need to retrieve this session in another page which is having 3 iframes..I need the session variable in the 3rd iframe..But when i try to retrieve i am getting "nothing" in the session..Wat might be the problem..? i am developing in .Net 2005 using atlas framework.

Just a general point, but try avoiding pop-up windows, some users browser block this feature.

The following is third iframe in which i call a .aspx page.The code is as follows..
In login page Session value stored : Session("USERID") = gstrUserId
In Game Page (3rd Iframe page) session value retrieved : lstrid = CType(Session("USERID"), String)
(or)
lstrid =Session("USERID")
But i am getting "nothing" in lstrid , when i execute this with the help of breakpoint
Wat could be the problem.?

r u using any classes in between i.e. BLL / DAL etc...? this is the only issue with such kind of problems..
other chances may be that somewhere any dynamic class code i sgetting changes...means your are creating some compilable code dyamically...
third, may be there is some event which is resetting your session..

Dear all,
i have a pdf file in some directrory of project(say mysite/pdfdirectory) and a pdf file inside the directory i have a pdf file inside directory adnd name of file saved in database now i want to show this pdf inside a particular div in a web form. the same thing works(for image file) when i add asp:image inside div, but its not working in the case of pdf. Can u please show me the path on how to do it i saw many exaple alll with Respose.writefile(fileuplaodpath) i think this shows the pdf file inside whole browser
