AJAX in Action is a great book if you want to learn AJAX. If you just want to use the ASP.NET AJAX library, then the best book is ASP.NET AJAX in Action[^]

I have a web form in asp.net and C# on the basis of selection from the dropdown i fill a dataset then assign that dataset to a reportdocument
datasource. that data set fills, but when the report is loaded there
is no data . I also have a Dataset1.xsd file which has a table with
same structure as that is filled with data in SP
In crystal report i have selected project data as dataset1.tablename
Pls help....

Hi,
I have a DataList listing the items a customer has added to their shopping cart. The quantity value of each item in the cart is displayed in a textbox (also happy to go with a DropDownList).
I need for the customer to be able to simply change the textbox value (or DropDownList value), and then this automatically update the cookie which corresponds to this item.
My problem is that i dont know how to transfer the DataList row data to a usable codebehind class/method. Normally if say using a button its a simple case of adding a CommandName to the button, which is called from the codebehind when the button is pressed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

and using that in newlogin.aspx
when user clicks a linklable in newlogin.aspx
I need to display login1.ascx but the rest of page should be transperant

Once page is rendered and shown in the browser, there is no separation like user controls and page. All the controls including user controls will be rendered to produce the single page. That said, you won't be able to do what you are asking.

hi,
i am developing a web application in asp.net (c#), when i m logged in related entries are made in database. similar with logout, now suppose if i logged in and my net connection is failed. how can i check this and make logout entries in database.
need urgently, please

AFAIK, there is no efficient method to do. You need to keep the time when user logged in. And update the logout time from a scheduled job by comparing the login time. This scheduled job should run at specified intervals.

Hi
I have a query which is inserting a value into datetime field in a database. It shows the error:
"The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value.
The statement has been terminated."

Hi,
I have developed one Web application. At that time my system had a FAT file system on it and this application worked properly. But now i have converted FAT file system to NTFS file system and whenever i am trying to run this application then it through the exception. I have used MS Access as a database. you can disable the cache for your pages
Why do you want to clear the History of browser

Probably the page is dodgy and he doesn't want so much evidence of it existing on the browser for a casual user to find.

i need to replace one page to another page without saving the browser url history in the same window. Coul u help me.
I got one solution ie window.location.replace(URL) but it only works in IE, not in firefox...
