I guess the smallest unit of execution is a property, because they tend to be smaller than methods. Is this what you meant ?
Does Google say that XML is case sensitive ? Have your experiments with XML indicated that it's case sensitive ?
It is, but you shouldn't need to ask here to find that out.

What do you mean by smallest unit of execution? .NET languages comile in to CIL (aka MSIL). Each CIL instruction could be considered the smallest unit of execution.

Hi,
I am trying to split a class(Class1) to different files, hence i have changed the access specifier for the Class1 to Partial. I have created one more class with the same name(Class1) and same namespace. From the second class file which i created, i am able to access the procedures / functions from the first class file, but i am not able to access the variables which are used there.
Can anyone help me to access the variables from the first class file.

That's just not possible. If you have a partial class, properly declared, then the variables and methods are all together in the one class.
Having said that, when I do a partial class, I tend to make it so that variables are used in methods in the same file. That just makes sense of the whole concept

I have the variables and methods inside one class. I want to break that class into two classes so that the size of the class is reduced. That is the reason why i went for partial class concept.
I have few variables which will be used throughout the class, so they have been declared globally in that class. When i tried moving few methods to the other class file, i am not able to access those global variables which are there in the first class file.
Can you help me on this?

If you have any namespace defined, make sure it is same for both files.

I presume you need to keep variables in one file and methods in other, right ? So your partial class would be like
file name would be MyClass.Variables
partial class MyClass
{
public int a;
private string b;
}file name would be MyClass.Methods
partial class MyClass
{
} when compiled, this will act as a single class. You can access variables as you do in normal class.

I am uisng the following javascript code to dispaly a calendar in my .aspx page.The problem is, i am having a panel on which i have textboxes so that i can pick the date from the calendar created by javascript and display them in the textboxes as inputs.The calendar is shown but its shown behind the panel.i.e i am unable to view half of the calendar since they are hidden behind the panel.How to make it available over the panel...?

No-one is going to read all of this code. This is a common problem, jscript menus showing up under controls. I'm not sure what the solution is, it may involve finding another control, or reorganising your page layout.

Firstly you try to check your calendar z-index
I try to check with you. your calendar can be override combo.
Only panel problem should be same with last time I meet up problem.
I think so that this is Calendar Issue. Last time I also think like that, I try to set with css. But it is not OK.
Solution is here. Previously .net 1.1 is using like this. This is problem.

I am using one web services from http://srch.in/srchWS/Srch.asmx this place
My code is

srch.SearchResults srchrslt = new srch.SearchResults();

srchrslt = t.GetSearchResults_soap(txtitem.Text.Trim(), txtlocation.Text.Trim(), 1, 1);
i am passing value from two diff text box and I am getting one error message like
'Server was unable to process request. --> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.'
I know it's a server configuration problem may be but how to solve this problem If u know help me please

I created one website with the same webservice settings and was able to make it work.
The best thing to check this would be to debug which instance is currently null.
Also, let us know which line of code is throwing this error?
