We have our current Web applications designed in ASP.We are planning to migrate this to .NET. Our applications interact with a lot of COM components hosted on MTS.We are planning to migrate all these applications along with the COM component to .NET,i.e., all ASP pages to ASPX and all COM components will be re written into .NET dlls. Okay so far so good.
As a part of our investigations, we are trying to come out with the best possible "replacement" for COM/MTS in .NET. We have thought of 3 techniques:
a.Put all the .net dlls(i.e., COM converted to .NET dlls) into a common folder and and refer them from our Web applications
b.Using .NET remoting: Hosting every .NET dll as a remotable object using a windows service.Our Web applications can consume this remotable object.
c.Using Reflection techniques: By Runtime binding them from Web applications
(Please Note: We do not want to look at Web Services as an option currently)

You can create costum control in DLL.
when shipping you can put these dll to Bin folder.
If you wan't to make avaible same dll to other project, then you must use GAC (Globaly Assembly Content - I hope i said it correctly). These option is more close to COM.
If you put in GAC, it has to be installed on hosting server. If you chose first, each project hosted there must have their dll.
And i don't know how tu use GAC

Internet Explorer is a Client. I don't know why is he using word network client i think he shoud say Internet Browser.
That can be done via javascript.

i wanna put my login page in the client computer how come in my router network . i donot wonot give anybody internet facilty without my permission . and i donot want this thing using asp.net .if any body came in my router network the can get the access to come in the network but they cannot access internet but they get my login page .

Hi Ankur,
You should note that System.Net.Mail namespace (the one pmarfleet suggested) is for ASP.NET 2.0. If you are learning ASP.NET 1.1, you should use System.Web.Mail.
Another thing you should know is that if your Email Server is in LAN, you won't be able to send to the other email addresses ( e.g. GMail or Yahoo or etc.. ) You may probably know about this but I'm telling you again cuz a lot of beginners used to try to send the mail to public email address from local email server..

I Have LAN And coud send email. Only i have to set virtual servers in Router Configuration.
Oh, and you can send email using any smtp server like google if you have correctly configure ports, name and encryption.
PS: GMail smtp server uses encryption.
PS2: SMTP Server delivers to specific email address. Even if you are using google smtp and deliver mail to yahoo

Hi,
I have one field in which user will fill date for that I have taken One DropDown for "MONTHs" and One TextBox for "DATE" and another TextBox for "YEAR" ("Month/dd/Year"). Now I want to validate Date filled by user..that must be current date or just within 15 days back date.
I tried to validate date through range validator(jDateValid) and for that I have written :
int curr = DateTime.Now.Day;
JDateValid.MinimumValue = Convert.ToString(curr-15);
JDateValid.MaximumValue = Convert.ToString(curr);
but when the date is 1,2,3,4.....15 range validator giving error message.
Anybody help to solve this problem....

Hello every one ! How can I display node of parent node and corresponding child nodes.Suppose I have to display 'Label' nodes of all <ScreenToSupport>. There can be multiple <ScreenToSupport>
inside parent node <ScreensToSupport>.In this case I have to display Label 'rediffHomePage' and 'rediffHomePage1' of both <ScreenToSupport> node.But I have to display corresponding Label of FieldsToSupport/FieldToSupport' of <ScreenToSupport>..In this case I have to display Label 'HotJobs'and 'Game' for 'rediffHomePage'
similarly display Label 'Images' and 'Air Tickets' for rediffHomePage1'.
For example on click an Item like rediffHomePage from a repeater/dataList It should display Label like 'HotJobs' and 'Game'of FieldToSupport. How can I display Label of corresponding
