I can't judge its worth, but I can judge its value.
To me, it gives a salary, a sense of accomplishment and self-worth, and indirectly contributes to my having a wife and children. To my employer(s), it gives something to sell. To their customers, it is a tool that allows them, in turn, to perform their work or their leisure activities.
There are many more measures of value that I could use. To which of them do you refer?

The point of me asking this question is that I believe most people will undervalue themselves/ their work in monetary terms.

Too many people misjudge their worth: how often have you heard, "if they fire me they'll be in the shite and everything will stop working."
And how often have those people been fired and companies gone belly up?
Nobody is irreplaceable.
So to answer the question: You're only worth how much it costs the boss to replace you.

That's a good one to keep in your mind when asking for the next raise. In a time where there's a shortage in trained and trustworthy employees, it becomes easier to be worth ones weight in silver.

I can quantify the cost and look up past profits, but that is not the same as the worth.

This is really the truth of measuring your value. You can't really tell, because things that are infinitely important may not be counted at all. Other things that the market deems important may be measured and you have none of it.

Well, maybe seeing ca. 20K hits/day on the web pages (all web applications that are used to do company business) and hundreds of users spending their time staring at my screens puts the work at some definite value. That it's totally adaptable to new company "brain storms"*
With so many people dependent upon it, it must be worth something.
