It seems rather unlikely that such a thing would happen without notice. And "nowhere to go"  does not apply in the case of git. Plenty of git repos out there, I am just lazy and comfortable with github, and very happy they did this.

But you can't browse to github with the new Edge browser they released today. On the plus side, it will show you the latest icons that allow you to download firefox.

Google (or whatever your favorite search engine is) is a fantastic resource. Really.
Case in point - I spend as much time - if not more - googling for solutions as I do writing actual code. The only time I ask a question here is if I simply cannot find anything resembling an appropriate answer that already exists somewhere on the internet. I'm not a trail-blazer, so the way I have it figured is that SOMEBODY has already done (or tried to do) whay I'm trying to do. Unless you'tre on the ABSOLUTE BLEEDING EDGE of development, the answer is probably already out there.
Put in the time to search for it yourself, because you may accidently stumble on another approach that is simpler and/or more appropriate than the way you originally envisioned handling your problem.
Be a developer for god's sake.

1: Help vampires
You know you're in trouble when Google returns < 2 pages! 
I've only asked 1 question in the 12+ years I've been here...and that was because I simply did not have access to the SQL environment my customer was having problems with. (availability groups)
I've only answered a half-dozen or so questions in QA (when I was really bored) but have found it to be a thankless experience and not worth the effort.
I also wonder if the 'give me codez' mentality is more prevalent in the millennials/younger generation where they've never had to work to find their own answers. Before Google when we started doing this, you had to be type 0 to even get by. Answers were found on the local MSDN or in thick paperbacks...usually accompanied by a lot of trial and error! (and swearing!)

While some individuals may be thankless, I used to take time out and answer questions because it was such a fulfilling experience all by itself (at least for me). Also, you learn plenty by reading other Q&A ( not all of them I know the quality could be really be low with some questions )
Of course, I could be out of touch with the attitude accompanying the Q&A enquirers today as it's been 10 years or so since I was actively and regularly answering queries, and things may have changed (for worse?) since then.

I have tried to make my colleagues understand this a few times using almost the same sentence. I think people are just lazy when they try to get the answer to their problems out of someone rather than thinking and researching about it themselves.
Maybe they're saving the energy for the apocalypse.

Only two eclmation marks put in the print "hello world" for quoting the hello world for the print command? But its suddenly stopped after python upgrade. please help sir.
