Anyone here spent any time using VisualWebGUI[^]?
Is it any good? (I.E. worth investing in for a huge project?)
|
|
|
|
|
From their homepage: (my emphasis)
"Visual WebGui (VWG) is a new 'Web lioke Desktop' platform"
I wonder if it comes with a spell-checker?

I want to store Custom Class object to ViewState for later use
Note : I want to use ISeriable interface not [Serializable] property
(When i use [Serializable] property, it is working fine but in my case i
have to use only ISeriable Interface, I have option to store object into ViewState only not XML or File)
PlZ help me.
Sample.aspx
Person oPerson = new Person();
oPerson.FirstName = "Sandilian";
oPerson.LastName = "Arumugam";
ViewState["Object"] = oPerson;
Person cls1 = (Person)ViewState["Object"];
Response.Write(cls1.FirstName + " " + cls1.LastName);
Person.CS
//[Serializable]
public class Person : ISerializable
{
private string _FirstName;
private string _LastName;
public string FirstName
{
get { return _FirstName; }
set { _FirstName = value; }
}
public string LastName
{
get { return _LastName; }
set { _LastName = value; }
}
public Person()
{
}
public Person(string FirstName, string LastName)
{
this.FirstName = FirstName;
this.LastName = LastName;
}
public void GetObjectData(SerializationInfo oInfo, StreamingContext oContext)
{
oInfo.AddValue("FirstName", this.FirstName);
oInfo.AddValue("LastName", this.LastName);
oInfo.SetType(typeof(Person));
}
}
|
|
|
|
|
If you want to store it in directly ViewState, it must have the [Serializable] attribute. No other way. What is the problem with using the attribute?
|
|

PL do not accept this type of declaration. that is the problem . Can you suggest me some way to solve this problem.

Your best bet is to get rid of the gridview and use a repeater. It simply gives you more control.
Why would you use a datalist AND a gridview ?

i have created a table from that table i want to transfer some data to tally for that i have Generated a xml for that specific table and to connect with tally m using RTSlink but i have to pass tally xml tag in xml in RTSLink so how to map xml tags with tally xml tgas in c#asp.net please help me
|
|
|
|
|
You have many classes available to manipulate XML. Use XMLDocument , XMLWriter etc.
Read the data from your table, use XMLWriter to create a XML file which matches the tally's required format.
|
|
|
|
|
use XMLWriter to write a file on disk.. .which is of same Schema as tally understands, and then invoke the tally import from xml...
I dont know tally but u can use RTSLink dll to import or export tally programatically...
see
http://www.rtslink.blogspot.com/[^]
and

This will do your work easy.

In my page i am creating a set of controls dynamically for adding attributes for a product.
Initially it will show a add attribute button. On clicking that first set of textbox to enter attributes will be shown.
Also a add more button will be showing .
On clicking the addmore button another set of textbox will be added to the pane keeping the first one there.
I have handled the code in the page event to keep the first one when adding the new one.
This will check the request object contains the attribute field and if present it will be added first.
if (Request["ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$TxtAttribName" + i] != null)
{
add the requested content with same name.
}
I am getting this worked fine. But some times when the response from server is slow i am not getting the first one which are added from request object
Do anyone can help me in this?

This is not a good method. You will end up with viewstate issues.
I suggest to use GridView/DataGrid with textboxes placed on template columns. When "Add more" button is clicked, add new rows to the grid's datasource and rebind grid.
This makes the process easy and ASP.NET manages viewstate for the dynamically created textboxes along with the parent control (GridView/DataGrid).

yaah N a v a n e e t h is right..
the controls dynamically created will be stateless...
and also u have hardcoded the client id ... which may cause you problems if you change the id of masterpage or use dynamic masterpages... in future..
Using Grid instead will solve your problems.and also easier to handle

You can use MS Computer Management console programmatically for this.
Try the links:
MMC Programmer's Guide
