I have Created a Procedure , i need to intergrate it with vb6, i know that one. i want to insert these fields into Property table and some of them i want to set them here in the Procedure, help to do that and assigning the value of textbox's in vb6 to the variable in a this Procedure. e.g num_key= txtnumkey. Here is my procedure but i did not finish it because of that part.
Create Procedure prcinserting @Num_key varchar(10),@Extension int,@Cell_ID int,
@Actual_Extent float,@Lis_key varchar(50), @Func_key varchar(8)
,@Active bit,@Add_date datetime,@Add_User_ID int,@Spatial_ADD_Date datetime
,@Rateable bit,Non_Discreet_Valid bit
with recompile
insert into Propery(Num_key,Extension,Cell_ID,Actual_Extent,Lis_key,Func_key,Active,Add_date,Add_User_ID,Spatial_ADD_Date,Rateable,Non_Discreet_Valid,)
values ()

Lord Hasan wrote: how to be a microsoft certified ?
By passing the relevant exam or exams
Lord Hasan wrote: so if i want to take the exam ???

I don't know - What do you want to be certified in?
Lord Hasan wrote: where i will take the exam ?
At an exam testing centre
Lord Hasan wrote: can i make it via net ?
No. It has to be taken in controlled conditions.
Lord Hasan wrote: coz i'm living in congo ..
There is a test site in the Congo.
Lord Hasan wrote: what i should know ?
The content of the course.

Ya know, it's the obvious answers that tend to be the most difficult to find!

First, you're confusing us with RentACoder. Noone is going to write your code for you here.
ALMA_soul wrote: does anyone knows if it is possible to detect when the computer screen monitor is PLUGED or UNpluged from the AC power line
No, there's no way to tell.

No, there's no way to tell.
And many Word Perfect users can attest to that.

there's ALWAYS a way to do ANYTHING I refuse to accept the NO answer from Dave ..here is a suggestion inquire the EDID if you get an answer that means the monitor is pluged if on at a later inquire there is no answer well either the monitor is dead or unpluged ...that is considering the monitor is EDID capable (most new monitors are EDID capable)
can ANYONE help? any help will be apreciated

SO THE NEW QUESTION IS DOES ANYBODY HERE KNOWS HOW TO DO AN EDID ENQUIRE, please keep in mind I'm NOT a PROGRAMMER (very smart but not enough to be ONE OF YOU), a sample code WOULD BE APPRECIATED

here are the details:
in my application the CPU is ON but the monitor is literally unplug from the AC line (I live in a 3rd world country and saving electricity is vital to me) via a relay which I remotely activate from another room (that part is DONE and working).
I’m running Windows XP and I want the application to monitor the DISPLAY and detect when the AC is restored (the switch is keept in the ON position all the time)
When such detection is achived a count down timer program should display the minutes left (because the relay activates in 20 minutes intervals and the students should save their work before the monitor is UNPLUGED)
If you need more details please let me know

too much students an too few computers for them . also electricity here is too expensive and computer time MUST to be restricted to those intervals per student in order for every student to have acces to them.
CAN IT BE DONE?.

Thanks for the reference...please help me furthermore, assume that I NEVER programmed C++, Visual Basic, but I willing to learn JUST enough to make this project of mine works not in months but within the next few days. (necesity is the mother of creativity)
Where do I start?
The funtion of your reference is for what programming lenguage?
is there a free compiler for that lenguage and where can I download it?
THANKS VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR ALL YOUR TIME.
GOD BLESS YOU.
answering your question, maybe god wants to show my students (using me, to lead by example) that there is no excuse for not finish the task at hand, but our own mental blocks.

ALMA_soul wrote: most new monitors are EDID capable)
Do all of your customers have EDID monitors? I seriously doubt it.
If you don't get an answer back, you get default values. So what does that mean? The monitor either doesn't exist, isn't plugged into AC, or isn't powered up at all, or is dead. Which is it and how does that affect your grand plan?
Besides, I can't think of a single reason this would be useful, and I've worked in MANY different environments. Monitors have supported StandBy mode for far longer than EDID. So what's the point?

As far as power usage goes, my 2001, 17" el cheapo CRT uses about 85W when on (presumably varies by brightness of image but not tested) and <5W in standby. Given the 50(??)+W a PC on standby would consume I'd think that if every last watt of power is a concern that shutting down the entire system rather than trying to create a rubegolderbergesque app.

You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

That's what I was thinking!

now we are getting somewhere, first thanks a lot for taking the time to answer and to accept there is a way (maybe limited, restricted but somehow a possibility), NOW.
standBY mode is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for my application the display must to be unpluged from the AC line when not in use (design restrictions) and the CPU has to detect when the AC is restore to the display in order to trigger another application (a count down program to display the minutes left for the user to work in that computer)
maybe is just dificult to understand (because the lack of ability to explain myself) BUT belive ME, this is what I NEED!
let's assume this solution will not work for ALL computer displays in the world but if it works with the ones we are using I be a happy for solving the problem (I tested a program I found in the web and they all are EDID capable) .
I understand YOU don't have the time for writing the FULL application for me, but if you, with all your programming experience can give me some pointers (maybe a code sample) in how to accomplish this, It will be appreciated.
