now we are getting somewhere, first thanks a lot for taking the time to answer and to accept there is a way (maybe limited, restricted but somehow a possibility), NOW.

standBY mode is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for my application the display must to be unpluged from the AC line when not in use (design restrictions) and the CPU has to detect when the AC is restore to the display in order to trigger another application (a count down program to display the minutes left for the user to work in that computer)

maybe is just dificult to understand (because the lack of ability to explain myself) BUT belive ME, this is what I NEED!

let's assume this solution will not work for ALL computer displays in the world but if it works with the ones we are using I be a happy for solving the problem (I tested a program I found in the web and they all are EDID capable) .

I understand YOU don't have the time for writing the FULL application for me, but if you, with all your programming experience can give me some pointers (maybe a code sample) in how to accomplish this, It will be appreciated.
