Use task manager to see if there is another copy of devenv running. Happens sometimes when exit from debugger is not clean.

The DEV elopment ENV ironment - Visual Studio, or which ever IDE you are using.
Basically, something is keeping a previous instance of your application running. If you can't see it in taskmanager, download Process Explorer[^] from SysInternals (now Microsoft owned) and search for your module name. You can then kill it directly, or kill the task that is holding it open

Hi everyone, i would like to know if there's anyway I can detect a key pressed.
I know there exists the KeyDown and KeyPress events on every control, but i would like to know if theres any way I can detect these events in general, instead of checking these events on all the controls of my application.
I'm using a Parent Mdi Form containing lots of child forms, and of course this forms have lots of controls as well. I tried to apply this on the Parent Form's key events, but nothing.
I bet there's a simple way to get this done. Please help.
Thanks a lot for your time folks.

hi daniel,
for each form u have a property called kypreview, make this as true
and then add keypress or keydown event to that form,
so all the key press event come that function first and then goes to corresponding control
i hope this will solve ur problem

It worked just by applying it on the Parent Form.
Thanx a lot!!

hey Amjath,
perhaps you have little misunderstanding of the question.;)
to daniel,
I think it's the question about how to bind key events in a simple way. As it mentioned above, there're too many child forms in the parent form, and you don't want to bind the key event in each child form. Thinking of this, if there's a base form called ControlEx (or something else), and it contains the override method of OnKeyPress, OnKeyUp, etc, things will be simpler when all the child forms inheritted from ControlEx not from System.Windows.Froms.UserControl.

Please don't cross post. Do you have any idea how you will achieve your project ? I mean, did you just choose it because it sounded cool, or because you had an idea how to go about it ? I assume you know C# and ASP.NET, as that's where you asked. No way are you doing any sort of graphical VR world in ASP.NET.

What was the original question?

Word of advice...if you have no idea how to start the project, pick something else. And learn how to spell. Don't use text speak at this site.

Virtual doesn't do anything with Asp.net. Instead go with Adobe or flash player to create a website.

hi
i want to create driver for my own devices, how to create driver with csharp?
thanks
|
|
|
|
|
You don't.
You need to write device drivers in native (unmanaged) code so they are more deterministic. The only drivers you can (mostly) write in C# are USB drivers.

Here am trying to delete the row in the dataset for Delete button click on each row and finally, when I click SAVE button, the entire dataset will be pushed into the db.
protected void GridView1_RowDeleting(object sender, GridViewDeleteEventArgs e)
{
DataSet dsGr = (DataSet)Cache["MyGrid"];
int RowID = (int)GridView1.DataKeys[e.RowIndex].Value;
dsGr.Tables[0].Rows[RowID].Delete();
Cache["MyGrid"] = dsGr;
GridView1.DataSource = dsGr;
GridView1.DataBind();
}
The DataKeyNames property for gridview is set to "id".
When I delete the first row on the grid, the RowID=1 and hence the first row on the dataset gets deleted but actually the first row (0th row) should be deleted. Can you please suggest if am going wrong on identifying the RowID?
int RowID = (int)GridView1.DataKeys[e.RowIndex].Value;
Just guide me how to find the correct RowID
Thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
Should be:
int RowID = e.RowIndex;
This gets the correct Index for the row that fired the event.

Thanks. I was finding the value.

No. My mail filters will just delete it. I don't accept "direct email responses" from CodeProject, unless you're in an exception list. And you're not in the exception list.

Putting combo boxes, etc, inside data grids is the subject of countless articles here, and elsewhere.

Okay I can't get my update to work. here is my code:
namespace DBWinVoice
{
public partial class Company : Form
{
WinVoiceDataSet companyDS = new WinVoiceDataSet();
public Company()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
private void Company_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'winVoiceDataSet.Company' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
this.companyTableAdapter.Fill(this.winVoiceDataSet.Company);
}
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
try
{
this.companyBindingSource.EndEdit();
this.companyTableAdapter.Update(this.companyDS);
MessageBox.Show("Update Successful");
}
