Just remember to stress the second syllable of valie when you read it out loud.

Or use .NET to your advantage with the KeyPressed event:
if (char.IsControl(e.KeyChar))
{
lbl_KeyPressTest.Text = "The key you pressed was a control key";
}
else if (char.IsDigit(e.KeyChar))
{
lbl_KeyPressTest.Text = "The key you pressed was a digit";
}
else if (char.IsLetter(e.KeyChar))
{
lbl_KeyPressTest.Text = "The key you pressed was a letter";
}
else
{
lbl_KeyPressTest.Text = "I don't know what kind of key that was.";
}

another option...
bool IsNumber(string text)
{
foreach(char c in text)
if(!char.IsNumber(c))
return false;
return true;
}
...pass it TextBox1.Text for example

Open the windows service in design view and right click... Choose 'Add Installer' and you're done.
Change the properties of the components automaticly added and you're good to go!

So... You have a Windows Service... You've added an installer (creating two components in design view) and you've added a setup project to your solution...
You've added the project output to the setup
Did I mention to add the project's output in the actions window aswell?
Right-click the setup project and open the custom actions window. Add the service's project output to the Install and Uninstall folder as well.. You should now be OK.

When sending data with BeginWrite async operation, how much time is passed until it fails to deliver data to client?
Server with TcpListener send data to TcpClient, and TcpClient application is not responding, e.g. it is being debugged from VS, thus until code execution is stopped, it can not read data from server.
Thus TcpListener application will accumulate much of the data to be sent, in case data volumes are large it will lead to out of mem soon?

This is something the server should handle gracefully regardless of whether or not network packets time out. As a rule of thumb we use 45 seconds as a timeout value; when we call BeginSend we wait that long and if the the async callback hasn't been called after the timeout value then we assume the client is down and close the socket. When the server closes the socket it can then flush the buffer of data that has been queued to be sent to it.

Hi All
I am going though this course for the 70-536 .net intro exam, and there is this suggested practice at the end of chapter 3
“Write a console application that processes your WindowsUpdate.log and displays the time, date, and exit code for any rows that list an exit code”
I am putting this string into input to test it out, the regular expression
should extract first the date, then the time, then the exit code, and inbetween these 3 groups it will match any number of white space or none white space characters with [\S\s*] to account for the the rest of the gobledegook in the log file.
The problem I am having is im getting is its returning just one match and not all the matches in the log file, there are some 30 odd exit codes in the log file, it seems to just extract the first date, the time from somewhere in the middle, and then the very last Exit code! I want to get every single one, The string input is testing it before I try the actual log file. The date time and exit code are in groups 1, 2, and 3.
input = @"1111-11-11 11:11:11:1111 Exit code = 212121
3333-33-33 33:33:33:3333 Exit code = 898989898";
Match test;
Regex rtest;
rtest = new Regex(@"(?<1>\d{4}\-\d{2}\-\d{2})[\S\s]*(?<2>\d{2}\:\d{2}\:\d{2}\:\d{3})[\S\s]*Exit code\s*=\s*(?<3>\S+)",
RegexOptions.IgnoreCase | RegexOptions.Compiled);
if (Regex.IsMatch(input, regularExpression))
{
Console.WriteLine("Input matches regular expression\n");
for (test = rtest.Match(input); test.Success; test = test.NextMatch())
{
Console.WriteLine(test.Groups[1]);
Console.WriteLine(test.Groups[2]);
Console.WriteLine(test.Groups[3]);
}
}
else
Console.WriteLine("Input DOES NOT match regular expression\n");

Hi all,
Can any one advice me on how to implement webservices in Copying one database tables in to the another one?The source and destination databases have the same table structures but different data.The also run within the same network on diffrent server.
Any ideas will be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Just pass the data in through a webservice method and copy it into the DB.

Thank you Chris much appreciated.
I have identity columns that are Unique for each table will that not be a problem in kepping the relationships that exist between tables on the destanation database.
How can i copy keeping the identity keys in order between various tables.
Many thanks

It would run faster if you just make the webservice initiate the copy, and perform the actual data transfer within a stored procedure using linked servers.
If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it.
