Solved it, In data section of chart expert, click on the group, click on order, select "In Original Order" from the dropdown and order the query in required order or use the group column in crystal report sort expert.

I have a small project where I have a single array of names followed by phone numbers. I need to load the names into a combo box. Which I can do until I get to the end of the array where the next index is invalid. How can I test and stop the lookup?

You can use a loop? Arrays are 0 indexed and you can get the count by doing array.Count - 1
so you can do
Public sub ttt()
Dim array(10) As Integer
For index As Integer = 0 To array.Count - 1
Next
End Sub
If this doesn't answer your question then I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

I believe it is Length and not Count

if you allocate a large array and then fill some of it with meaningful elements, leaving the remainder untouched, then arrays are not the best choice, you should use a generic List instead. Then you can iterate its content with a simple For Each
If all this is unfamiliar, you should look it up (Google) or better yet read an introductory book on VB.NET

Hi All
I am in fix of displaying the result of google search in VB(not in vb.net)
Is this possible to search any thing in google search using VB and displaying on the form using custom design.
Many many thanks in advance..

This would be a great time to upgrade to vb.net, as VB6 is a dead, non-supported language.

I would concur with your support statement.

I'd go with what the customer wants, and with the tools that are available. Anyway, I wouldn't be too surprised to find the VB6 runtime on Weven-machines in the next couple o' years.
I posted a link to the support-statement because VB6 questions are invariably answered in the same way, and that answer just isn't completely accurate. One cannot get support for VB6 from Microsoft, but the Operating System will support it. That might be an important factor if you had to decide whether to (let someone) rewrite a large application.

Not quite. I keep demanding the demise of VB6 but it just won't die, no matter how many stakes you drive through its heart!
I just refuse to support anyone asking questions while they still use VB6. If we keep supporting it in the community, people and companies will just keep using it.

If this were the official CP stance, it would make sense to add a sentence to this effect on the top of this forum.

Essentially, the issue as I understand it, is people in the third world whose PCs won't run .NET. Beyond that, there is no good reason for using VB6, I agree with Dave. But the site is surely not going to lock anyone out, although the absence of a VB6 forum when they are different languages suggests that there's no expectation that VB6 will need get a lot of use, going forward.

OK, seems fair. So we probably keep things as they are (I don't expect Chris to split a forum, it is hard), and we continue to answer questions, i.e. those who can remember how things got done (or not) in VB.

Oh I'm not saying that they should be locked out of CP. I just choose to not support VB6 anymore. I'm kind of going against the fact that there were a bunch of VB.NET MVP's that clamored to Microsoft to continue support for VB6 into Vista and beyond.

Yup
You'd put your question in the query-string, and then fetch[^] the resultpage. Once you got the results, read them as a text and fish out the things that you want.

Hello
I want to insert a picture flowing by other that at the end it have a meaning
So the number of these picture depend on the user input throug a textbox
Ex:
if the user input is: a*b
so the system will draw 3 circle
the 1st one with an arrow that point to the 2nd
the second with an arrow pointing to the 3rd
notice that these figure exist
any idea
Thanks in advance

Any chance you can clear up your question a bit, I'm having a hard time deciphering exactly what it is you want. What have you tried so far? Any chance you can post some relevant code so I can try to see what you're doing?

I sorry for my question ?
I try to draw the machine depend on what the user give as input.
Ex:
if the user enter a*b
the system must show a specific machine.
so i try to figure all the image needed by the system to draw different kind of machine
but my problem how to tell the system to insert this figure followed by that one regarding the user input, off course there is a rule to chose which is defined.
"In other language I try to figure out the machine(DFA) that accept this kind of language that is represented by the user input"
Thanks a lot

I too can't figure out what you're talking about.
How does the input "a*b" relate to drawing circles??
|
|
|

Is it like first circle would have radius equal to "a", second with radius equal to "b" and third with radius equal to their product? You need only two things here then:
1. Some sort of parser that would compute result based on text you enter. You can use a switch statement if the mathematical operators you allow are few and basic. If you are allowing large and complex number of operators, get a third party parser.
2. You need to handle the Paint event of your form (if you are drawing circles directly on Form). There you can draw the circles using the Graphics object's DrawEllipse method. Make sure to redraw all the circles everytime or else they would vanish.
