Hi,
I want to execute more than 50000 records on button click event.
But When I click it shows windows progress bar while executing the records and then after some time it wait at the middle of the position of the progress bar. So Client thought It may not execute the 50000 records.
I want Some solution so that Once I click on button it will display record succssfully execute page though they are executing at backend.
Thanks

call another process (say web service) to do the job.
The process may also spawn a new thread and run the sql scripts in background.

Hi,
I have installed VS 2008 with framework 3.5 in my machine with win-xp as operating system and VS 2003 and VS 2005 also installed.
whenever i create any new web site in my VS 2008 it creates it at my local IIS but then when i compile and run the site i get http 404 page not found error.
My site has localhost in the path and the page that i m trying to browse is also at the same location still it gives page not found error.
Please if anyone can give some workable suggestions.
Thanks,
sabiha.

I believe you are selecting HTTP instated of file system while creating new project in VS.

Hey... in vs 2008 I dont think it creates local IIS entry, rather it runs in the developement server already included.
When you publish the website, there is some option given if you want to host to the server.

The default location set to File System. But if you want to change, you have two more option HTTP and FTP.

you create vs2008 application, When you using debug mode run it, application don't uesing IIS, when publish this applicaion, you must configuration application of IIS,.Net framework. check you IIS, or debug you application in vs2008.

Is it possible to execute Update command in C#.net? I worked on Insert,select and Delete commands. If yes means how it is possible?

do you mean....Can you execute an Update statement (against a supporting sql database) from a C# application?
|
|
|
|
|
create a command object with appropriate connection to the database (It may be SQLClient, OracleClient, OleDb, Odbc etc) and run
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery("update statement")

Dear Friend,
I have created an project in which most of the time i use Try Catch block to catch error's syntax as follows
Try<br />
{<br />
}<br />
Catch(Exception ex)<br />
{<br />
throw new Exception(ex.message);<br />
}
But when any error occurred it give me message which is not user friendly, i want it in simple and understand manner, for that i think to create a class which will be business logic class between interface and Error handling Class (using inherit method), but for that i have to change the following code as User define code.
//Previous Code
Catch(Exception ex)<br />
{<br />
throw new Exception(ex.message);<br />
}<br />
//User Define Code
Catch(MyException ex)<br />
{<br />
throw new Exception(ex.message);<br />
}
which is time consuming, can it possible to create an class which does not required to change the code but still complete my requirement???
Thanks in advanced.
Sasmi

In the catch block,u can redirect to an error page. There u can receive the error and can display.This page can use for all the error throwing occations.Or u can display custom messages also.This is a good approach in error handling.

I didn't get your actual problem. You want to retrieve data from Database based on SessionID or what ?
