It means you don't know anything about what you're doing and should learn to use google and buy some books.

hi.
im wondering how to implement a website im building.
in short at has a login screen which a user can login and see a page with left div with information of some sort, middle div that holds couple of tabs, each tab should fill the div with a table of that tab(customers for example). the user will be able to add a client to the table, delete and edit. the other tabs should do the same, that is show table with edit, delete and insert.
in my current implementation i use a user control for each tab.
the user control have the table in it and the delete, insert, edit buttons in it.
when the user delete a record for instance , id like to call a method in the user control that deletes this record and sends back 1 or 0 uppon success or failure.
than using JS in the client i will remove that row in the table. likewise in the other buttons for insert and edit.
the problem now is that i cant call to a method in the user control directly from JS because of .net limitations.
any suggetions to overcome the problem or to use a different implementation?

How about using WebService to perform Add/Delete operations? You can use js to call webservices.

i thought about doing that. but im not quite sure if this is the best implementation. isnt using webservice can cause an overhead? is it conventional to use webservice for that reasons?

how can i do it with code

there are a number of ways you can do this. Here is very good http://www.asp.net/learn/data-access/tutorial-11-cs.aspx[^] that shows you different cases

You can just use this sql:
select sales1,sales2,sales3,sales4,sales1+sales2+sales3+sales4 as total from customer

Give me one good reason why you want to remove it.
nilleshkumar wrote: THE DESIGN PART OT PROJ DOESNT SHOW THESE pls hlp
Of course it want show you. Why should they?
nilleshkumar wrote: urgent
not to me
nilleshkumar wrote: i can understand that my query intially looks lik to steal someones credits but cant help it
you cant help it? [note: using your words] Are you saying your can not help it, but steal some ones code? What is wrong if you show their logo? After all they not you, have wrote the code. How do you plan to give them credit.
nilleshkumar wrote: help me to view it atleast
There is one thing I can help you. If it is a free code, download it, then use it to learn something. Then wrote your own application based on what you have learnt from scratch. That way you got to learn something and you end up writing your own code. How is that for starters?
Otherwise, if you want to use their code you need
1. Understand their licencing scheme
2. Give credit where credit is due
if you can not do any of those, then step back and leave the space for someone else.

so for learning purposes why remove it?
I sense more hidden agenda beyond learning. Stop you thief!

This guy is a clown. He's asked this several times already. I expect he's downloaded some free code and hopes to onsell it as his own,

You are an ignorant retard. Stop asking this question. Stop trying to steal from the people who have made their code available so clueless people like you can get the result you want for free.

Hi,
In a page when user does an action(e.g. click a button) and some code executes, agian when user refreshes the page that event happens.
How can I disable this feature?
I don't want to transfer user to another page after click, he/she should stay in the page after click.
Best wishes

define your problem and code exactly.
what you have to do when click event fire.
describe u r question in brief and paste code here
|
|
|
|
|
I have a Asp.Net page on my form, In click event of it, I've inserted something in DB.
when user clicks the button the insertion happens and when he refreshes the page the insertion happens again.
Best wishes
|
|
|
|
|
this is because of postback.when you refresh the page
the last event (in your case click will be) fired.
here you have to manualy check the data when you fire the insert query.
when the data will insert in database check if the entry is allready
exist then not allow to insert.
this is only way to resubmitting the data.

In Page_Load use IsPostBack to check if it is a post back

And what should I do if it's post back ?
The event automatically fires again.

Well, that is for your to decide. normally you do
if(!IsPostBack)
{
}
