I like to think there may be another advantage to having developers who also support and maintain the software they create...better software and happier clients. Hopefully, those wearing multiple hats are getting reimbursed at an appropriate level.

More like a dogsbody who does everything because nobody else is available/cares.
While the description given fits my current job I would be best described as a stack short of full.

1) It's Windows 7 fault[I still have XP on my workstation so hard to believe];

I work in a department that is silo-ed away from the rest of IT. I’ve been a developer for 15 years, so you could say I’m senior standing. I write applications, test cases, deployment scripts, TFS administration, System Administration, and some SQL Server Administration. Since we are in a silo, I have kept things simple, though everything is scripted and the security of drives and folders are setup for only certain accounts for deployments or even running applications or database jobs.
The problem with this is that it can be a bit chintzy at times and months will go by without doing any development work, whatsoever. And I still don’t consider myself a true DevOps engineer. I have tried to keep things simple so any technical deficit doesn’t impact the user. Thus, I don’t think I will ever incorporate any TFS ALM features into my solution; at least not anytime soon.
Maybe DevOps, maybe not, though I'll take the buzzword!
