When Chrome supports Roboform and something like NoScript, I will consider using it.

I love the survey topic.
We are using an old version of Siebel 7 and it will not operate properly with IE7, IE8 (not even compatibility mode) or even FireFox.
We are stuck using IE6 for now and hoping our anti-virus and firewall keep out the bad guys as best as we can. 
Hopefully we will be able to upgrade or replace the old legacy system soon as our budget permits.

I agree. "Legacy Systems(s) requiere it" is a common reason.
We have a big problem with a new Web that we are developing because around 50% of the users have old PCs (windows 95/98, Win Xp with IE6, etc). They are distributed in all the country and not belongs to the same company.
May be you think "He's mad", but i'm not the only one.

I can tell you that some medical software requires it. For this field a lot of stuff is years behind the current.

Unfortunately as part of a large organization, there is an application some where used in another division of the company that only works with Internet Explorer 6. As a result everyone is blocked at the firewall from upgrading Internet Explorer. At the same time I mainly use FireFox and Chrome, so it does make that much of a difference to me. It just means that until they upgrade their ancient application I will need to continue developing for the lowest common denominator (ie6).

Wow, you and I must work for the same company. 
We have the same problem where I work and our group handles it with the same solution (develop for lowest common denominator, while using alternate browsers and making sure it works on them as well). I cannot imagine how long it will take for us to upgrade from Windows XP to 7 because of this.
Oh, and this is all with recent(!) off-the-shelf software, not some homegrown apps which just doesn't make any sense to me. Who is buying this stuff?

Funny you say that. We recently upgraded one of our systems to "new and improved" software, and the first requirement on the list: Windows NT 4.0. Obviously we are one of the ones buying this software.

IE5 was the only version immune to the recient IE vunerbility, so obviously you should be downgrading

Why anyone would still be using IE6 is a mystery to me.
Released in 2001
Superceeded by IE7 in 2006
And again by IE8 in 2009
Here we are in 2010.
Aside from snide remarks that Firefox is better, I am amazed that a version of IE that has been extinct for four years still has a 20% share of the browser market!

I don't know - something about upgrades.
I've had bad sh*t happen after some of their upgrades (like the infamous ZoneAlarm conflict).
And, since I use FireFox at work and SeaMonkey at home, why take a chance?

Most, if not all software, is broken. We've just not noticed yet.
