Hi
I am new to Visual Studio 2013 - used to use Crystal Reports but its image handling was poor.

I have dragged an Image from the toolbox onto my report and the Image Properties box appears where you can type in the NAME, Tooltip, Image source and "use this image"

I have made the Image Source EXTERNAL (not EMBEDDED or DATABASE).
In the "use this image" field, I want to give the path to where the images are stored (lets say C:\images) and then the field name.

I have tried things like file://C:\\images\\ & companylogo

and

"C:\\images\\" & companylogo and lots of other ways, but I can't make it work.

If I point to a real image I can get it to work, but i need it to look at the field name within each record on the report to determin which image to use.

Can anyone assist please?

Ian

You have tagged this Visual Studio which is an IDE. What programming language or product are you actually using?

Hi Richard, thanks for replying.

I am just using Visual Studio 2013 Reporting Services. I haven't used any programming. Not sure where to start with that!

thanks

You need to update your question with the correct tag ("Reporting Services"), and better detail about exactly where you are entering these pathnames.
